A thread to discuss My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic and the tie-in media.
All of the usual forum rules
apply. In addition, please remember that the thread is discussing a kids' show, and it's primarily focused on the work itself, not the fanfic — in particular, we don't want to see lewdness creeping in.

And the innuendos just keep on coming.
It means getting drunk. It's a reference to one time when Applelight posted here while extremely drunk tired and emotional. He mistyped 'got a taxi' as 'hot a taco'.
Whenever you are using your special talent, you gain an extra die and an extra achievement point bonus, yes. Spectacular successes are also easier. Also, your special talent is slightly addictive.
Oh, well yeah. Especially of games that don't include Intentionally Overpowered stuff, but even then, it's bad, but there is even worse out there.
A lesser man would make a Heh Heh, You Said "X" joke here.
Reaction Image RepositoryAnd let us not forget that 3.5 was a revision of an even more broken system. The spells haste (essentially one extra action per turn) and harm (leaves the poor sod with only 1d4 HP, regardless of how much they had before) in particular.
Anyway, I'd be up for helping playtest this thing, schedule permitting.
it's... pretty easy to upset the balance if you want to. Especially depending on class.
Birthright: an original web novel about Dragons, the Burdens of Leadership, and Mangoes.Yeah, Pathfinder isn't really balanced at all. They nerfed some of the most broken options from 3.5, but they didn't do anything to address the underlying imbalance, and some of the changes they made actually made things worse.
Of course what do you expect when SKR was on the team?
Blind Final Fantasy 6 Let's PlayD&D 4e is slightly better in that regard, if only because you can't be a complete one-man-army capable of doing everything. Most completely broken builds involve the cooperation of at leas one party member.
Like the Radiant Mafia. One party member lays down vulnerability to Radiant damage on the enemy, and the others use Radiant attacks to take advantage of it. I assure you that stuff dies.
Pathfinder is more balanced than 3.5, but the difference is smaller than people were expecting.
4th ed is far more balanced. Unfortunately, a lot of the design decisions left me preferring the imbalance of 3.5.
My adaptation of D&D isn't really meant to fix the balance issues as a primary feature, but I hope that it's still at least a lot more balanced than standard 3.5. For one thing, it's meant to make hit point damage and full BAB a lot more dangerous and casting spells a lot more punishing.
Yeah, D&D 4ed is much more balanced, but that's because they completely redesigned the game and changed it into a tactical war game with all the classes using the same mechanics.
PF, by contrast is designed to play like 3.5 and it is just as inbalanced as 3.5.
Blind Final Fantasy 6 Let's PlayI wouldn't say PF is more balanced than 3.5. There are fewer game breaking options, but that's simply because there are fewer options overall. It's not like the design team had any idea what they were doing with regards to balance.
And in some respects, PF is worse than 3.5. For example, PF makes it a lot harder to create a competent, tier 3 martial combatant, primarily due to all those missing options, plus some pointless nerfs to already weak classes.
