A thread to discuss My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic and the tie-in media.

Anonymous is a female?

I think Ed was talking about Luna in Irish' other post. Which reminds me that today is Monday.

I hate Mondays.

This song is why the musical gets it. This magnificent, powerful song.

[up][up]Apparently, there is no real list to sign up for.

A propos, what are the rules for this Round Robin thing?

You can only read the proceeding chapter, and when your done the next reads yours and so forth. The only hardish constant is that Tealove is on an adventure for the ultimate tealeaf. Anything else goes.

I don't know, the last one ended pretty well, I daresay.

Hmm, I think I would like to give this round robin a shot this time around. I haven't ever written anything fiction, so it would be interesting to see if I am any good at it.

Tealove goes on a quest for the ultimate tea leaves and uncovers a government conspiracy. All else is unknown.

So I just watched Jekyll&Hyde with David Hasselhoff. I'd like to thank this forum for pointing me in that general direction. Broadway is generally not my jam, but this was quite good.

@Kayeka

Make sure to look up and search the songs performed by other people, because Hasselhoff is kind of on a lower end of quality when it comes to singing.

Though I do not utterly despise him or anything, like many of the musical fans do.

[up]I might. No promises, though. Performance is generally secondary to writing when it comes to stuff I enjoy. There were some very interesting constructions in the lyrics, with several layers of meaning.

EDIT: I'm more likely to just look up the lyrics and read those.

[up] Oh yes. These songs get it. In fact, I'll go as far and say Alive, as a song about liberation of inner self at expense of responsibility outmatches Let It Go.

Yes, I said it.

just saw a commercial for a MLP: FIM dvd called "A Dash of Awesome." it's got five RD episodes, and it's being sold at Wal-Mart.

@Crimson

I saw a lot of those "character DV Ds" in a store near me. About five episodes on each, specifically about a character. RD one, Fluttershy one, and Twi one.

Difficult for me to agree there, mostly because the songs are so different. Not just the tone, but even the themes of the songs are so distinct I can't really compare them like you seem to. Alive is about being free to enjoy evil, while Let It Go is more about being free to enjoy being yourself. To put it in Freudian terms, Let it Go is liberating the Ego from an excessive Superego, while Alive is liberating the Id from both the Ego and Superego.

They are both great songs, though.
