A thread to discuss My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic and the tie-in media.
All of the usual forum rules
apply. In addition, please remember that the thread is discussing a kids' show, and it's primarily focused on the work itself, not the fanfic — in particular, we don't want to see lewdness creeping in.

Yeah, it was a (surprisingly non-controversial) Polsky episode.
Also, was it just me, or does Sapphire Shores have a really pointy nose?
Reaction Image RepositoryI am able to watch ponies again for this weekend alone. Though I am clearly watching slowly.
Is it me or has Sweetie Belle been getting smarter and more scheme-y-er ever season?
I imagine everyone was surprised to see Pipsqueak come back and voiced.
And per usual my desire to see bad things happen to DT and SS were only intensified.
The Blog The ArtWell that was unusual, but a very great episode.
- Sweetie Belle can do telekinesis now!
- Wait, why didn't Rarity use TK on the box during the chase?
[[orange:Shut up, I got it on sale from Valve, all right?!]]
Blind Final Fantasy 6 Let's PlayIt seems orange isn't a color option.
I put my friend in a coconut! He lives in my hat! Hey, come hang out!Okay that episode was so damn adorable and, just he perfect way to bring Luna in.
We now have pretty good evidence for ponies aging at about the same rate as humans. At least as foals.
Luna was the perfect one to give this lesson, though do wish we got a little bit more about that time and what it was like for her that crove her to that.
Sapphire Shores is amazing
How the buck did the other two CMC get past that guard just by Sweetie opening the door from the inside?
Luna continues to be best Princess.
Well pensive potions are canon, though the potion only works on Alicorns. But Discord was also able to show memories to an ordinary unicorn.
I didn't realize it, but wo you're right! She showed her the past, present, and future.
At first I thought it was going to be a dolphin.
Yeah but that was evil bright green. Sweetie's is more olive.
Blind Final Fantasy 6 Let's PlayLuna was the perfect one to give this lesson, though do wish we got a little bit more about that time and what it was like for her that crove her to that.
Me too, but I understand why they couldn't delve into it more in an episode that's supposed to be about Sweetie Belle.
I put my friend in a coconut! He lives in my hat! Hey, come hang out!It worked for Shark Boy And Lava Girl. Oh, Wait!.
As I understand it, they're stretching things a bit here. But then again IP law in general is a grey area with boundaries defined mainly by how many laywers you have.
Now we need a Psychonauts crossover.
It was more like pseudo-Early Modern English.
Reminds me of in middle school when people thought I'd be able to get into any college I want without trying. Hahahahahaha no.
Or the costumes. Even if there aren't any.
Well AJ actually does get overshadowed in her own episodes.
Blind Final Fantasy 6 Let's PlaySeeing as how various characters are coming back and have already reappeared {The Flim Flam bros in an upcoming episode, The Diamond Dogs in Rainbow Rocks and one of the Friends Forever comics, Trixie in Magic Duel, Sapphire Shores in the new episode, etc}, I'm still wondering if Gilda will ever return.
It was pretty cool.
I like to immagine that Catherine happened and noone noticed because Luna saved everyone.
I already said that. Oh wait,
Saw new episode. Sapphire is just the sexiest pony EVER... STILL!!!

Dakota's blog An odd agent of justiceI wish that were the case, then we would get at least A FEW works going into the public domain, even if only the ones that don't have an army of lawyers to protect them.
Unfortunately, yet fortunately, The owner of a mark is not required to constantly monitor every nook and cranny of the entire nation and to fire both barrels of his shotgun instantly upon spotting a possible infringer
.
That's why we can have things like Creative Commons, where artists intentionally waive a part of their censorship rights, on the other hand, that's why things like the Happy birthday song can stay in copyright even after a century of obvious public use.
Trademark genericide only applies to very specific case of total disuse, and failing to even formally renew the trademark license (this is how Hasbro lost Firefly, Surprise and the rest), and genericide, when a trademarked term becomes universally used as a common word. You can't trademark Painkiller-branded painkillers, so if Aspirin starts to be used everywhere as a synonym of "painkiller" and not as an indicator of your specific brand, then your trademark on the word can get lost.
Neither of these relate to fan-works at all, anyways. Derivative works' censorship is a copyright issue, not a trademark issue, and copyright doesn't dissolve from disuse, it expires after a fixed time.

So because Hasbro thought Button Mash was missusing the property/infringing the work without giving the rights to the company, they claimed C&D?
Dakota's blog An odd agent of justice

Agreed. There was very little superfluous content and no attention-drawing gimmick type stuff. It felt a lot more focused than a lot of episodes do.
