A thread to discuss My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic and the tie-in media.

All of the usual forum rules apply. In addition, please remember that the thread is discussing a kids' show, and it's primarily focused on the work itself, not the fanfic — in particular, we don't want to see lewdness creeping in.

I don't know WHAT the Hell happened (I blame shenanigans) but we're going to start from scratch. Post your feels for this awesome show again! Naow!

@Starscream: Ouch... I do hope your day improves, and I'm rather pleased the pics are helping a bit.

As for a pony question... One pony to teach you their art, who'd it be?

I'd say probably Rarity. Fashion aside, being able to sew is an extremely useful skill, especially when you don't have a lot of money to go around...

But like, I wear - depending on the maker - anything between a 38/38 and a 36/40 pant size, which is just a bastard to find. Seriously, if pants are long enough they're too narrow, and if they're wide enough they're too short. Even at Big and Tall stores, it's just a nuisance to find anything that fits me. Being able to actually make my own pants would solve that problem pretty well, to say nothing of the fact that I could keep them for longer because I'd be able to maintain them better. And that goes for a lot of things. A lot of stuff is fabric and all that. On a day-to-day level, none of the other mane six have anything that's practical to me, really.

Plus, sewing is the kind of work I enjoy - very focused, very detailed and very hands-on.

Why don't you try having a go at making your own pants? It sounds like it would be worth it in the long run and enjoyable to boot.

Well, at the moment I have enough to last me.

I might actually try giving it a go someday, though. the trouble at the moment is there's a chance I could buy the fabric(which might be expensive, I'm not sure.) and then proceed to ruin it, which kinda kills the cost-effectiveness somewhat if that take multiple times.

It's the kind of thing I can certainly see myself trying in the future, though.

The best solution is just to not wear pants. It's worked for me so far!

Cheerilee has been severely underused this season. And in general.

Yeah but if you had Twilight's magic, you could just fix stuff without needing to sew, and so a whole lot more stuff.

I think it shouldn't be that bad. Fabric is reasonably priced if I remember right, and unless you really screw up, even the first few bad efforts could still be worn when you need clothes that you don't care about ruining, or barring that, rags. If you find a good set of instructions to work off of, you should be fine.

@Seraph: Well, assuming we could actually, you know... do the magic. which we kind of can't.

If I had Twilight's level of magic, making pants would not be the first thing on my mind. I'd probably have enough money at that point I could hire an italian tailor or something.

Speaking of ponies, I just discovered that Blaine's Ponyta and Rapidash are massive cheaters. Fire Spin cancels your attack and they use it every single time, so there's nothing you can do expect hope they miss before they murder your entire team.

@Mio: Because Cheerilee is excellent and adorable and back in season one I really liked the idea that she and Twilight were friends that hung out sometimes between episodes.

Yeah, that doesn't sound smart.

But anyway, here's a Gurren Lagann/Bible crossover fic for your reading pleasure.

And here is a Harry Potter fic about space wizards and femslash.

wild mass guessPonies have a Standard Female Grab Area. It's their front hooves.wild mass guess Hence why AJ in "Spike at Your Service" and Pinkie in "Maude Pie" could be trapped by rocks that, by all rights, should not have inconvenienced them.

Maybe pegasi have one on their tails instead. How many times has Rainbow Dash, the fastest flyer in Equestria, been immediately stopped by somepony grabbing her tail?

Man, it's been like a year since I last heard someone talk about the The Game.
