A thread to discuss My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic and the tie-in media.
All of the usual forum rules
apply. In addition, please remember that the thread is discussing a kids' show, and it's primarily focused on the work itself, not the fanfic — in particular, we don't want to see lewdness creeping in.

If that's the case, then they almost have to go through teachers a lot. I mean, nobody can get perfect reviews all the time, especially when one particularly slow and vindictive person can throw off the rating like that.
Still, either way... serious bummer. Hopefully it'll turn out to be not as serious as it seems?
Birthright: an original web novel about Dragons, the Burdens of Leadership, and Mangoes.Have you tried reminding your students of that?
Blind Final Fantasy 6 Let's PlayOh, everyone gets sucky grades every now and then. You're supposed to get enough fives that it doesn't matter.
Me too. Still sucks that I get paid so little though. I need above 4.7 to get paid in the top bracket.
I'm not allowed to.
Maybe try the ol' Monty Python hint hint routine.
Visit my Tumblr! I may say things. The Bureau ProjectYeah, I can see why you wouldn't be allowed to. If a student knew for certain that their rating of a teacher's job performance had a direct impact on whether or not they'll be there next year, they might be tempted to be less than honest.
That said, it just sounds like the whole thing is a badly-designed examination of a teacher's effectiveness, and that the people in charge don't see the problems with it.
You know, it's funny. My team leader once said that she thinks that I'm a better teacher than she is. She's just better at sucking up.
Relating this to ponies, How would the mane six do if they were similarly evaluated? Obviously Pinkie would do well. I think Rainbow might have the hardest time.
EDIT:
Eeyup. They're far more concerned about keeping the customers happy and coming back than about them being taught well.

I hope things work better in the future for you, Sereg.
Also...I never RP. It's just who I am. If I was here when I was 15, I would have been a lot crazier. Now, I have more moments of clarity now than back then. I'll dial back the craziness.

Dash seems like the kind of person who does really bad in the teamwork parts of her workplace evaluations, but is kept on and ferried up because she's just so damned good at her job that she's too useful to let go of.*. She also seems like the only one who works a job where she's likely to be evaluated. I mean, AJ, Rarity and Fluttershy kinda run their own business, Pinkie knows her employers on a personal level and is more of a live-in helper than a real employee, and Twilight seems to be the sole employee of the library, if it's even active as a library at all. We've never actually seen anyone go there for a book...
Birthright: an original web novel about Dragons, the Burdens of Leadership, and Mangoes. So, I looked up the highest rated "Out of Context" image that hasn't been edited in some way (that is, that they haven't re-ordered the shots or added text; the only change in the surrounding context being removed). The result: This.
@Kegisak: Twilight is is more like a graduate student (or apprentice princess now); the Librarian thing was always sort of happenstance.
Which is why in my fic she pawns the job off on Spike (he gets paid, of course), so she doesn't have to worry about it.

Reaction Image RepositorySereg- try asking the other teachers if they have any tips for getting along well with/impressing the students.
http://h0useb0und.tumblr.com/Also, I'm not even sure that RD would do that badly in terms of workplace evaluations. She can be a bit snippy sometimes, but "Hurricane Fluttershy" showed that when the chips are down, she's a competent leader. Not the best obviously, but I doubt she'd get particularly crappy evals either.
In other news, it's kinda funny this subject came up. Lately there's been a bit of a kerfuffle about this stuff at my Dad's job, though for an entirely different reason. Basically, my dad gave one of his coworkers a less-than-stellar (but still not bad) evaluation. In-depth, in that he wrote up about a page of stuff explaining everything. It wasn't overly negative or bad natured; basically boiled down to "Someone in X's position should be contributing more than he currently is". Then the guy somehow got ahold of it and is convinced that it cost him a promotion. What makes it more humorous than frustrating is that the guy in question has a bit of a reputation for being lazy and basically phoning it in and never taking initiative and he pretty much never had a shot at the promotion anyway.
@Kyler: #2 is This.

Reaction Image RepositoryWhat up, Star. All the syrup is out of my system. And I think I'm going to buy a gift card at Best Buy so I can order something online...Sonic 06.
@Teeth That sounds both screwed up and a tiny bit funny.

https://youtu.be/_1F5HhUvFbM?si=csgwerqELcG6615qToday: Evaluations.
My evaluation of this thread is that it does not suck.
Much.
@marcen: That is the motherload of badness right there.
Visit my Tumblr! I may say things. The Bureau ProjectNeed caffeine. Preferably, an I.V.

AJ does not want.
This kid looks stoned out of his mind.
Funny out of context, but in the same way the IPT posts are. Because without it, you're left wondering what the hell's going on.
EDIT: I seem to be on a roll today. Two pagetoppers in a row.
