A thread to discuss My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic and the tie-in media.
All of the usual forum rules
apply. In addition, please remember that the thread is discussing a kids' show, and it's primarily focused on the work itself, not the fanfic — in particular, we don't want to see lewdness creeping in.

@Purple: Aside from Spyro's section, the formatting and grammar is fine, and bizarre plots has never caused trouble with prereaders. As long as we put an explanation in the description, it should be fine.
Reaction Image RepositorySo just got done watching Applejack Intelligence Agency
- Their shadows just magically appeared as they walked down the hallway. I'm worried Dr. Facilier might be involved
- Are those pie crusts rock solid? The bottom two should have been smashed from the way she caught them.
- Long checklists? Has AJ been getting tips from Twilight or soemthing?
- Wow, A Js bags are a lot bigger than the ones she had in Dragonshy.
- AB actually got the chores done? Gotta admire that 'earth pony work ethic'
- Yep, AJ has definitely caught Twilight fever
- Wait, so there's just a whole bunch of identical bows? Does this mean that AB's bow isn't nailed to her head after all?
- Does she even have a map?
- Hey cool, a chimera! I was wondering if those would ever show up
- They're totally talking about eating pies, not her
- Called it!
- Or I guess they're talking about eating her too. I can't tell if the Chimera is supposed to be nice or evil or what
- Wait, those flame resistant boots - the things AJ asked about are actually going to be useful aren't they
- Man, ponies are really wasteful and messy eaters of pies. They just eat out the middle with their face. Once again inexplicable human technology meets the resistance toward showing human like bheavior on screen. But this really doesn't make sense. One would hope that they use silverware offscreen. Then again, how are they getting through the rock solid crusts anyway?
Rock solid crusts? I don't think normal people eat igneous pie, man.
I have a message from another time...I vote we make a new account for the round robin. And I hope we do a sequel eventually.
http://h0useb0und.tumblr.com/It is, isn't it.
It was pretty clearly setting up an anticlimax joke. I was actually a little surprised it wasn't something completely trivial.
The Double Helmet is probably quite valuable in TF 2.
I found that amusing too.
It is? I guess I just assumed the Tiger head was male.
More likely to be a reference to chimera mythology
Mildly? She literally treated AB like a baby.
How so?
Blind Final Fantasy 6 Let's PlaySame. Which just leaves the questions of what to call it (the account, I mean) and who's in charge of it. You know, since someone has to provide their email. That, and I'm not sure whether or not multiple people logged in to the same account is allowed.
I immagined that being said by Ozzy Osbourne in Brutal Legend.
Yeah that was great.
We're going to need an image for it too though.
Yeah, there's one called Ponemurdered that is openly a round robin fic. And of course we should post it on a seperate account.
I think it'd be funnier if we make the description totally serious and only put the explanation in an A/N at the end.
Blind Final Fantasy 6 Let's Play@Story: It would be funny, but it also might turn people away if they don't know what it is when they start reading it.
As for the account, maybe we could make under Trope Tan or something. We could make a bogus email for it, and let two or three people have the logon info. We wouldn't want to make it publicly available, because it would be a mess, but more people means less chance of getting locked out.
Reaction Image RepositoryHis name is Taro Yamada and he's from Chinyuki: Taro to Yukai na Nakama-tachi.
Also, he has the same voice actress as Spike in the JP dub of MLP.
Meta Four's been handling it all so far, why not let him do it?
Blind Final Fantasy 6 Let's PlayJust got back and saw today's episode.
Welp, it certainly was an episode. :V Not bad, not great. Decent for a first time writer. Loved to joke with the song though. I've been waiting for that one.
-edit-: Okay, this is too perfect for its own good

"I feel like I'm on a raft and surrounding me is an ocean of dumb."- Mr. SarkI know this has probably already been discussed, but I really wanted to respond to this. See, this statement assumes assumes that all seasons should be treated and judged the same when it comes to these things when they really shouldn't be.
The reason people give more leeway to varies characters actions in season one is because the characters are still being established. So of course things in season one are going to be seen as adding character depth, because before that it was mostly unknown what they would do.
After you've established the characters you need to be more careful and mindful of what has come before when your writing things, even if all you're trying to do is entertain and be funny.
I have a theory. By this season, the writers aren't as focused on pushing the character development. Think about it. Fluttershy is constantly learning lessons that relate to her shyness over and over, Applejack is always learning lessons that relate to her productivity over and over again, etc, as if they never learned from the previous episodes. This is a KID'S show. The actual morals aren't written for us in mind, which makes me believe the reason for this.

@Mio: While I ultimately agree with that, I have seen quite a few people whining for the sake of whining. Like some people outright vilifying Pinkie for her inability to shut her trap in Filli Vinilli. Yes, there should be consistency between characters, but we can't always predict their every action, or else they might become uninteresting.
Lastly, there seems to be a lot more new writers this season then in the past. While every instance of being OOC isn't exclusive to their episodes, nor have their episodes been necessarily bad, they probably don't have the same grasp on the characters the more veteran writers do.
If I could use this to bring up something I've been musing on, I would like to see the concept from the Best Friends Forever comics implemented in show. Namely the "taking two (or more) unlikely characters and focus on their dynamic together". I think pony works its best when characters are bouncing off each other. There's still a lot of dynamic between main and/ or supporting characters that could stand be elaborated on.

"I feel like I'm on a raft and surrounding me is an ocean of dumb."- Mr. SarkGotta love this neverending circle of kidness.
"Oh this is not just a kid's show!" - Bronies everywhere.
"This is just a kid's show!" - Bronies when presented with flaws.
This is a flip-flop argument, and I'm tired of it. Please at least someone make up your minds whether you think this is a kid's show where every flaw could be excused by "kids are dumb and won't get it", or a groundbreaker that took the world by storm and showed that adults can like it too.

That's what I get for not reading fully before posting.
