A thread to discuss My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic and the tie-in media.
All of the usual forum rules
apply. In addition, please remember that the thread is discussing a kids' show, and it's primarily focused on the work itself, not the fanfic — in particular, we don't want to see lewdness creeping in.

So you have to go through the fire swamp to get to the regular ol' swamp.
Good moral: AB was clearly wrong for trying to do this delivery, but AJ's figured out that there needs to be a balnce between protectiveness and trust.
Visit my Tumblr! I may say things. The Bureau ProjectShe was snapping out of it, but then Scootaloo forgot she was in a closet full of bows adjacent to the bed.
Pretty good.

Visit my Tumblr! I may say things. The Bureau ProjectSo is the Fire Swamp a reference to The Princess Bride? I mean, we didn't see any lightning sand or Rodents of Unusual Size.
Haaayeeeeeeeee!
That Chimera was pretty awesome. As was the Fire Swamp. Applebloom was lucky she didn't run into any Lightening Sand or Rodents of Unusual Size while she was there!
Kind of an odd thing, though... Applejack's fears are pretty divided over the peisode. Like initially it seems like she's just gonna be silly the whole way through and it's going to be a more domestic episode, and then she finds out Applebloom snuck out... and even without the knowledge of the Fire Swamp and Chimera, her concerns become significantly more legitimate. It feels kind of weird to have the division like that. I guess the idea is that, "There are things to be afraid of, but if you coddle your children they'll never be ready to face those dangers".
Also, Applejack's Fire Proof Boots are going to get a lot of attention I think...
Birthright: an original web novel about Dragons, the Burdens of Leadership, and Mangoes.Good episode, and The swamps are in close proximity to the gates of Tartarus, the fire swamp likely taking its characteristics as a result
BTW I noticed that the chimera was a little different from traditional depictions (Tiger instead of lion, and I'm sure that there was an eagle head somewhere), but then again Chimeras are one of the most played with tropes.
Well There were two kinds of paranoia; the regular irrational kind (in this case that Apple Bloom would kill herself doing her everyday tasks) and the not-so-irrational-in-context kind (In this case the fire swamp, and the chimera)
