A thread to discuss My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic and the tie-in media.

Secondly, he made a facebook post explaining that, no he isn't. That was in character. The NC was sick of it. Doug loves seeing it around so much.

Not quite. He doesn't think it's overrated, he's just sick of everyone and their grandma covering/parodying it.

What's Doug ranting about now?

Let It Go. His latest NC video was a parody about how everyone is covering/parodying it.

I thought Pick of Destiny was a fun movie. Flawed but fun. I love Master Exploder.

@JT: Oh good lord yes. I'm actually sort of depressed now knowing that will never be a real thing I can play.

Oh my god scratch that, they totally are making this. Granted with the original, not Thousand Year Door, but still.

Seriously, it would fit perfectly. Also, I just watched "BMO Noire". It was... okay, I guess.

Let It Go is good, but the thing that really sells it for me is the animation that goes with it.

Actually, it's probably the animation. That giddy excitement. That foot stomp. That ice castle rising from the mountainside.

This "faculty lot" you speak of sounds like a place of great power...

Actually, it's probably the animation. That giddy excitement. That foot stomp. That ice castle rising from the mountainside.

That, plus the context it comes in within the film itself. It's a good song on its own, but it's the combination of the song itself, the animation, and the context within the story all combined that really make it so amazing. The "conceal, don't feel," line, for example, works alone, but it's far more powerful when you know that it's something her father told her to try and keep her safe.

The Paper Pony thing does look really awesome. Too bad I've never played Paper Mario. :V

@Frozen: That castle Elsa makes is one of the coolest things to ever be animated ever. I wish I could animate. Or draw. [lol]

If you get the chance you should absolutely play Thousand Year Door. My fave of all the Paper Mario games. Heck, just thinking about it makes me want to go play it again.

Seriously, Thousand Year Door is one of my favorite RP Gs period. It has unique gameplay, a fun art style, and the writing is hilarious.

[up] Was that for the Gamecube? I think I had one floating around here somewhere. But I'm currently in the middle of another Mother3 (my favorite RPG tongue) playthrough, so I might be awhile.

I'm currently hooked on One Way Heroics. The basic story is simple, but there are layers implied and the gameplay is challenging.

Yeah, TYD was Gamecube. I still need to get around to Mother 3, I loved Earthbound.

Also, palindrome page.

[up][up] For me personally, I like the Call Backs to Earth Bound, the quirky-to-dark path it takes (as does Earth Bound), the foreshadowing, and I was really hit with emphasis on family. (I'm pretty close with mine.) Plus, I played Earth Bound and Mother3 back-to-back, so I rode the hype train right into the sequel rather than waiting 10+ years.
