A thread to discuss My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic and the tie-in media.
All of the usual forum rules
apply. In addition, please remember that the thread is discussing a kids' show, and it's primarily focused on the work itself, not the fanfic — in particular, we don't want to see lewdness creeping in.

@Kyun: To be fair, fantasy worlds should still be internally consistent. Though new elements being introduced don't break that, and MLP is internally consistent... for the most part.
Birthright: an original web novel about Dragons, the Burdens of Leadership, and Mangoes.Yeah, people forget that "introduction of new elements" =/= inconsistency unless it actively contradicts something we already know about the setting.
Reaction Image RepositoryHis big thing was "Why the hell are the Breezies needing to harvest something in Equestria, when they live in another world and Equestria is a death trap, plus they need the help of ponies just to do it?"
Which yeah that could be an issue, if it wa ever explained that this is soemthing they NEED to live or survive, and that it only ever came from Equestria.
It could be the pollen is a replacement for something they once had, but lost due to some accident of disaster, and the ponies are helping them out because, well, ponies. Or it's not something they NEED but just something they they found out is really beneficial to them. But not really needed to live.
There are plenty of ways it makes perfect sense, but, it just comes off that, unless the show spells it out for us, it's a plot hole because can't be bothered to consider anything except only what is shown on screen as ever taking place.
Yeah, Picking just one was really tough. For S1, it was basically between "Party of One", "Green Isn't Your Color", "A Bird in the Hoof", and "A Dog and Pony Show".
Reaction Image RepositoryI'm really tired of my dad's attitude.
He thinks my mom needs to get a real job.
My mom, who owns and operates her own business, needs to get a real job. Let that sink in for a moment.
http://h0useb0und.tumblr.com/@Big Danny: which episode are you gonna watch next?
All things are lawful for me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but all things edify not.Is this the antique store?
Blind Final Fantasy 6 Let's PlaySo I'm coming back home to Michigan at a very convenient time.
The Youmacon staff are starting up a new spring con called the Midwest Media Expo... and among the guests this year are Silly Filly Studios ("Snowdrop") and Hotdiggetydemon.
Long live Cinematech. FC:0259-0435-4987story- yes, it's the antique store. It was the same when mom was an independent contractor for a fundraising company. And when she was trying to become a Realtor. Dad has no respect for the work she does.

Earth is a death trap for a lot of the animals that live in it - arguably all of them, as even if you're an Apex Predator there's still the danger of natural disaster, or in-fighting among the herd, or just plain accidents... many predators can often be killed by their prey, either via a lucky hit or the prey having adapted defence mechanisms such as horns or turning their legs built for running into legs built for kicking. So in that regard there's really no reason why the Breezies seem illogical. The breezies, like everything else in Equestria, receive aide from the ponies because that's how the ponies operate.
In fact, it's more than likely that the ponies are actually interfering with the natural course of events. Consider, if the breezies venture outside only to get the pollen for some unstated reason(Let's say they use it as a food source but only need a bit or can convert it into a larger supply, so they can get decent stores of it in one trip). If they venture out naturally and use the breeze, the trip is going to be a bit choppy. As a result, they'll likely spill a bit of the pollen on the way back home.
In this way, they get their own food, and they spread the pollen of the flowers so that more flowers grow. If that sound familiar, it's because there is an existing analogue - bees. The Breezies are basically sapient bees.
The ponies, saw the breezies struggling in the natural course of nature, however, and decided to give them smoother breezes, as they've taken it upon themselves to smooth over the changing of the seasons and care for wild animals all around - the breezies don't need the ponies, the ponies just stepped in of their own accord.
Birthright: an original web novel about Dragons, the Burdens of Leadership, and Mangoes.Yeah, that's kinda how I saw it as well. The ponies don't need to help, but doing so makes it easier for the Breezies, who probably triggered some sort of Cuteness Proximity in the ponies.
