A thread to discuss My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic and the tie-in media.
All of the usual forum rules
apply. In addition, please remember that the thread is discussing a kids' show, and it's primarily focused on the work itself, not the fanfic — in particular, we don't want to see lewdness creeping in.

@Story: You're really oversimplifying things. I was just using economics of one example of how studying the events of the past can be used to inform how we approach such matters in the future. As a whole, historical studies basically a study of how humanity developed into what it is now, and understanding why people behave like they do.
But seriously, we're starting to derail and I'm getting tired of discussing this anyway. To get back on topic Here's a picture of Derpy accidentally setting Twilight on fire.

Reaction Image RepositoryActually, I'm guessing what would really happen is Love Poison + Love Is in the Air.

This "faculty lot" you speak of sounds like a place of great power...So it's psychology by proxy?
Blind Final Fantasy 6 Let's Play![]()
It's really a false dichotomy; psychology, history, economics, sociology, etc. aren't fully distinct from each other. There are overlaps in the subject matter and the different subjects are simply issues of focus. So yeah, there is psychology involved, but likewise if you study psychology, you're going to run into historical analysis.
Yeah, there's a lot of overlap there too. The importance of literature (which unfortunately has fallen by the wayside) is that it serves as a reflection of the values of the culture that produces it. Same goes for history, at the core it's studying what society values and figuring out how they came to have those values in the first place. It's basically saying "the culture of the 2000's developed out of the culture of the 1900's, which in turn developed out of the 1800's, etc." Take something like racial prejudice in America for example. In order to understand "black culture" (I realize this is a huge generalization, but it's not a detailed analysis anyway) in America, one has to understand the circumstance in which it developed, and the only way to do that is to trace the history of American culture and see how it developed. In order to understand the values of culture groups outside our own, we have to understand their history and why they developed like they did.

Reaction Image RepositorySure, let's go with that. Anyone have a distraction?
Visit my Tumblr! I may say things. The Bureau ProjectI finished watching the last 2 episodes of Community with Donald Glover in it. Quite sad.
https://youtu.be/_1F5HhUvFbM?si=csgwerqELcG6615qI know. That's why it's hard to argue the merits of history specifically.
Blind Final Fantasy 6 Let's Play@Story: Because it's impossible to go into any of those fields without going into history at some point.
@NES: I don't know what the problem is. You should be getting a page of scrunchy faces.
Reaction Image Repository@NES: It seems to be the way filters are set up on Derpi nowadays. I usually sign in on my account, which doesn't have filters for stuff like screencaps and episode spoilers.
Visit my Tumblr! I may say things. The Bureau Project@Teeth and Ed: Might be the reason, thinking about it... kinda silly with the unsigned having several filters on that can't be altered I think.
Anywho, hopefully, a Derpibooru account isn't too difficult to manage.
@Starscream: Danke. I wasn't known to carry excess weight for extended times. Didn't help that my residence was found by that scout, so three guesses as to what'll likely come next in theory.
@Star: You're quite on the money with the guess.
@Yeller: German? Never gratuitous? Nein. (Sorry, but kinda tempted that one there.)

@Kyler: I think we found out what the changelings' big plan is: Convince Cadence to really invoke love is in the air, and then harvest a surplus.
