Yeah, pretty much every serious attempt at figuring out pony size puts them at 3-4 feet tall.

Only earth ponies can do the sexy eating thing.

Speak for yourself. Personally I find a women who is clearly really enjoying her food to be hot. That was by far the best part of the episode.

@Kegi: Ah. Right. I'm in a similar situation. Though it was my Dad's birthday and I was actually told the story of how it happened. My family was visiting the Drakensburg mountains and my Dad went hiking and got lost and ended up n a village and met the chief because he was the only one with a telephone and that's how he was rescued. Of course, I was induced early because I was huge.

That... story seems like it's leaving out a detail. Unless your Mum was the Cheif's daughter.

Or I guess unless your mum was just really grateful to see your dad alive again, or something.

Well, I was skimming.

Or I guess unless your mum was just really grateful to see your dad alive again, or something.

This is closer, but it's more complicated.

Not only was it his birthday, my mother was at the height of her fertile period and they'd been really struggling to have a child (This is one o the reasons that I'm named after my mother's fertility specialist. Poor dude was actually diagnosed with the same disease my mother had and being a doctor, knew how bad it was, so he committed suicide, but that's off-topic). They'd been planning to try that night because it was pretty much perfect, height of fertility, away on holiday, my dad's birthday, but then he got lost. By the time he got back, they were exhausted and decided to just go to sleep, but they woke up a bit later and ... decided to go with the original plan. And here I am!

EDIT: Oddly, that author's other drawing's put the other pony's at a more normal size.

@Pony sizes: I feel a little silly for thinking five feet'd be the norm... -blush- (Not that I'd mind... even if Sunset's taller than me because of that.)

There's a good chance I was an accident, considering I came five years after the next oldest.

Happy birthday!

Well, my parents had decided on a girls name but hadn't decided on a boy's name, so I was nameless for about three days (my sister naturally didn't have this problem, though they wanted to wait longer than they did for her because they were planning a trip to America as my dad needed to go there for business and we have family there. I was eighteen months old, so I remember nothing o the trip).

EDIT: [up]Yeah. Still, I kind of owe my existence to him. And I know from helping look after my mother that multiple schlerosis is awful.

But I guess that was obvious.

@birthdays: Happy birthday, Starscream! By the way, there are several people on my dad's side of the family, including him have winter birthdays that are all around the same time in January and February, so that does happen in families sometimes. As for myself, my birthday is June 23 and notable because I was born two months early and would otherwise have an August birthday if I hadn't been prematurely born.

@Sunset Shimmer pony and human picture: Perhaps the artist was using the sizes of the dolls to get the proportions of the human and pony versions? The ponies are often assumed to be bigger than that but that picture is pretty accurate to the relative sizes of a regular-size pony doll and an Equestria Girls doll when put next to each other, so far as I could tell when checking by using my dolls of Rarity that I have in both versions. (I have all of the Mane 6 in both pony and human forms, but Rarity happened to be the one that I used.)

The general consensus is that a pony of mane 6 age is like half a human, but god-pony like Celestia is slightly taller than a human.

Come to think of it, where does that come from? Is it supported by anything?

@Luminosity: I think it comes from calculating sizes based on what was stated to be an 8-foot tall candy cane in the episode Hearth's Warming Eve, along with calculating sizes of ponies relative to objects such as apples that are assumed to be the same size on the show that they are in the real world.

By the way, I'm noticing something odd about pony episodes on iTunes. Filli Vanilli shows up as able to be downloaded as a single HD episode, but not on the HD season pass list, nor on the SD season pass list (which is the one I bought when the 4th season first came out). Is there something wrong with what I'm seeing or is the episode delayed for some reason? I haven't seen Twilight Time on there either but it might be too soon for that one.

@Lum: See this, this, this, this, and this. It's remarkably consistent that they're almost always within the 3-4 foot range.
