A thread to discuss My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic and the tie-in media.

I'm planning on going to another convention, not gonna say what it is but let's just say I have plans regarding conventions.

Are there even any pony conventions in the western U.S.?

Teeth: My situation probably skews things, but for me, it's a social thing. Many of my closest friends are physically quite far away from me. Since they'd all in the fandom, this presents a chance to meet up and do something big with a mutual common interest.

Big bonuses are meeting the show staff and getting to run around in my costume.

EDIT: [up] Everfree Northwest in Seattle is a pretty big one.

It's a shame Galacon doesn't happen during late May.

I don't see myself going to any pony conventions due to health problems, a lack of money, and feeling uncomfortable in crowds.

Me and one of my friends have thrown around the idea of hitting up bronycon if it's relatively close to us, but whether we will or not is up in the air.

I don't see much point in bothering either. Especially since they're rarely close.

Yeah, it's one of those things where it would be cool to go if it were convenient, but I'm not going to go out of my way to get there.

I've always wanted to go to Vidcon. That, or the completely hypothetical Tropercon.

This "faculty lot" you speak of sounds like a place of great power...

Conventions are a bit of a mixed bag for me. Anime cons are a lot of fun if you go in a group, but lately I've been enjoying them less, partly because I don't really watch that much anime anymore. Everfree on the other hand has been a blast both years. It helps that being focused on a single show means I'm basically interested in everything going on. If you're able to go to that one I'd highly recommend it.

If I went to a convention, I'd probably go to Defcon.

I go to Youmacon regularly. It's a blast, but make sure you are guaranteed a hotel room before going. You WILL need it for all the backtracking you'd have to do.

Eh, I can't see myself on a con. I like things, but I'm not that deep into liking anything to hold my attention for more than an hour or two. Not to mention that I'm not good with crowds.

Meanwhile, on Twitch plays Pokemon; the chat server is under maintenance, and no new commands can be put in. So now the chat is rioting, praying to Helix and Bird Jesus to restore control.

Besides, the highlights tend to get recorded and put up on Youtube.

[up][up]It's funny because the maintenance is purely that chatroom's fault.

[up][up]Speaking of cons, highlights and youtube, I am of the opinion that this video never gets old:

Yes, I know this is ages old, and barely related to the subject at hand, but I still think it's funny.

Seeing it on Youtube isn't the same as actually being there, though. There's a certain energy going on, like an infectious excitement. And it's wonderful.

It's funny because the maintenance is purely that chatroom's fault.

Or arguably Twtich.tv's fault.
