A thread to discuss My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic and the tie-in media.
All of the usual forum rules
apply. In addition, please remember that the thread is discussing a kids' show, and it's primarily focused on the work itself, not the fanfic — in particular, we don't want to see lewdness creeping in.

Wow, I just happened to check on the Twitch stream at the very second they finally managed to teach Drowzee Psychic. Talk about timing.
I do not think that phrase means what you think it means.
Blind Final Fantasy 6 Let's PlayWhich is not at all what quid pro quo means.
Blind Final Fantasy 6 Let's PlayThe weird part is that thanks to not watching TV, I basically haven't see any of the holiday 'classic' spam.
Though I did recently watch A Chirstmas Story just to see what it was like (spoiler: It's boring).
Blind Final Fantasy 6 Let's Play@Morning: I'm honestly kinda torn on it. On one hand, it's really Glurgey and the title character borders on being a Purity Sue, but on the other I think it's better made than Double Rainboom (it actually attempted to make the viewer care about what was going on), and it clearly had real effort put into it, even if it didn't turn out as good as it could have. In short, I find it endearing despite the flaws because it's trying to be as good as it can.
Reaction Image RepositoryOn the subject of how Equestrian culture treats remembering accomplishments, I would make a note of something I've observed from the show. Perhaps ponies are more likely to give special treatment to somepony who does something personally for them, rather than something that shows off their talents but happens when others aren't around. As in, they may value personal acts of kindness more than past accomplishments, or may value accomplishments more if they were able to actually see them happen. The place where I noted this most was with Rainbow Dash and the Wonderbolts. The way that she got noticed by them wasn't simply because she won the Young Flyers Competition, but because she personally saved their lives after they were knocked out trying to catch Rarity. And in The Best Night Ever, she also was noticed because she personally saved Soarin's pie, and in
Perhaps another way to put it is that ponies tend to focus on things that are concrete over things that are abstract, which is probably why somepony like Twilight who studies more abstract, theoretical magical subjects is probably rarer in their society, although not unheard of. This may be partially because with the various dangerous creatures that live in Equestria, ponies NEED to be more aware of what is actively going on around them so that they don't get attacked or eaten, along with the fact that personal, loving relationships such as friendship have an actual magical power in that world.
Unfortunately for me personally, this might mean that it would be even harder for me to be an INTJ pony than the INTJ human that I am, or at least it would be even rarer than the "INT" types are in real life.

I like to think that Snowdrop is a cheesy holiday movie that Cheerilee makes her students watch every year before Hearth Warming's Eve. And frankly, everypony but her is sick of it.
