A thread to discuss My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic and the tie-in media.

All of the usual forum rules apply. In addition, please remember that the thread is discussing a kids' show, and it's primarily focused on the work itself, not the fanfic — in particular, we don't want to see lewdness creeping in.

I remember when this PSA aired. I think that was the moment I first realized that the 90's were lamer than a quadriplegic horse.

Nuzzling :3

Swat Kats, Cyber Six, Reboot, oh yeah. 90's cartoons are still awesome.

Ah the 90s. The Cartoon renaissance. We're doing quite well these days too.

[up]Man, I loved me some Swat Kats.

Hey, now it's the year I was born.

Have another wierd 90's intro

(Also as a Canadian I could probably show you some of the weirdest shit I remember from my childhood, but a lot of it simply isn't on Youtube because that's just how weird and obscure it is.)

1994 Iron Man Season Two was the best comic-to-cartoon yet from Marvel.

Oh, are we talking about shows from the 90s now? I pretty much watched Cartoon Network most of the time, so my childhood shows were stuff like Johnny Bravo, Dexter's Laboratory and Powerpuff Girls.

You're fortunate. I had a friend who liked it, but I could never stand to look at it for too long myself.

It was one of my friends who introduced me to Sailor Moon. He was a huge fan, even going so far as to import unsubbed vhs tapes that were dubbed in Cantonese because that was the only way to get some episodes.

In other news, I just picked up Long Live The Queen on Steam. I played it for about an hour and already I get the impression that it's deceptively brutal. It lulls you into a false sense of security as you go so many weeks just training your would-be queen for the challenges you think she'll face, only to realize you forgot to teach her swordplay when someone challenges her to a duel. Or court etiquette when the diplomat of a powerful nation shows up. Or both when she blows a minor offense way out of proportion and challenges said diplomat to a duel herself, despite not knowing anything about fighting.

Anyone remember Biker Mice From Mars and Street Sharks? I remember really liking them, but not enough to know if they are actually good.

Yeah, the 90's had great cartoons, if nothing else. Not to mention some of the greatest videogames ever. (Super Mario 64, any Legend Of Zelda stuff released during that time, the original Crash Bandicoot and Spyro The Dragon games). Not to mention it's when Dream Theater basically created Progressive Metal as a viable genre.
