A thread to discuss My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic and the tie-in media.
All of the usual forum rules

Really cute episode, flutterguy was great, big mac has a awesome singing voice, and the songs were great. Only real complaint was pinkie being way to in flutters face, but at least the others knew she was over doing it. Also im glad to see Cheerimac still exists in show.
My Tumblr "If theirs one thing I'm good at, it's blowing" Jesse Cox 2013I'm going to have to rewatch this again just for all the background stuff.
Reaction Image RepositoryWe have names for the other two.
She didn't say who was who though.

Visit my Tumblr! I may say things. The Bureau ProjectStealth Fluttershy/Cheerilee shipping. I approve. Never thought of that pairing before.
Reaction Image RepositoryI also find it interesting that Fluttershy never questions her decision to take the Joke, seemingly regarding Flutterguy as just the same person as herself. It's probably not quite intended that way, but I can really see a pro trans message out of that
.Are you sure, the recap page says Rodgers.

@Dark: Not that I'm against that message or anything, but where are you getting that message? The poison joke doesn't change anything except her voice. It's not like it actually turns her into a stallion. This is more analogous to being willing to sing in a helium voice (well, sodium hexaflouride voice, but same idea
).
@Shota: There's a subtle difference. In that one, Fluttershy had an obligation to do something she doesn't like doing and isn't very good at for the sake of helping out the group, whereas in this one she likes singing and has talent for it, but her anxiety simply prevents her from enjoying it when others can see her. They both involve performance anxiety, but there's a difference in that in this episode she likes singing and is genuinely good at it, and her nerves are her only issue; she just doesn't want to be the center of attention. Whereas in "Hurricane Fluttershy" her problem was more that she believes her self a terrible flyer and doesn't want to let the group down by not being up to par.
Or basically, what
said.

Reaction Image RepositoryHey, crazy cat lady from 'Pinkie Apple Pie' was in the audience.
Visit my Tumblr! I may say things. The Bureau ProjectI suppose. As the show progresses, I can see writers struggling to figure out new lessons the Mane 6 would be able to learn without repeating themselves.
That said, this episode WAS REALLY ENTERTAINING. It's not the best episode of the season, but it had TONS of nods to fandom memes, Flutterguy is now canon, and I LOVED the tiny hyper little filly pegasus!

It's all good fun and stuff, gotta love 'em Flutts episodes.
