A thread to discuss My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic and the tie-in media.
All of the usual forum rules
apply. In addition, please remember that the thread is discussing a kids' show, and it's primarily focused on the work itself, not the fanfic — in particular, we don't want to see lewdness creeping in.

I actually thought about 'I warned you about trains, bro' as another possible description.
Blind Final Fantasy 6 Let's PlayYou haven't gone yet? Hey, maybe you should do a chapter. Anyway, we can't summarize it, since you're supposed to go in blind.
Blind Final Fantasy 6 Let's PlayI actually read 3 chapters since I got sent Spyro's chapter to do proofreading. I also got sent one of the later chapters at one point so I could pass it on in case Meta Four wasn't there, but I didn't actually read it.
Dark has probably read at least 3 chapters too, just given the number of times he's tried to participate.
This was literally my first fanfic
Blind Final Fantasy 6 Let's PlaySo now I'm watching the episode of Adventure Time where Jake meets Lady's parents. This is great.
And now I go to bed.
No really. Unless you deliberately make it bad, it's not going to be that bad. There's one chapter in there already that simply must be seen to be beleived.
Blind Final Fantasy 6 Let's PlayAnyway, Irish hasn't started yet, so the spot is wide open if you want to try.
Blind Final Fantasy 6 Let's PlayI'm having trouble figuring out how Twilight would even start teaching the alien English in my story.
Blind Final Fantasy 6 Let's PlayI know a bit about Linguistics. And I teach English.
Thoug, my students already know a bit.
The easiest way is to try teach like you would teach a baby. Describe evrything that you do. Name every object you handle. Show a positive reaction to the alien using a word correctly. That kind of thing.
I'm sure there are sites discussing this in more detail.
I did do a bit of research into it for my own story - it involves a bit of Tarzan-esque, 'teaching the wildman language'.
And yeah, everything I've read basically just backs up Sereg. Just start with showing stuff and stating the word, make it really clear they've got stuff right. Start with really basic things like nouns and verbs before moving onto pronouns and sentence structure, etc.
Birthright: an original web novel about Dragons, the Burdens of Leadership, and Mangoes.

No one has read more than two chapters at this point, right?
