A thread to discuss My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic and the tie-in media.
All of the usual forum rules
apply. In addition, please remember that the thread is discussing a kids' show, and it's primarily focused on the work itself, not the fanfic — in particular, we don't want to see lewdness creeping in.

Alright. Accidentally slept through the streaming of the episode, so it’s time to catch up. Prediction: the episode will end with Applejack and Rarity finally admitting to themselves that they only have eyes for each other.
Alright, it’s starting.
Huh. Seeing as Pinkie thought she was a shoe-in for the role, she’s taking her loss remarkably well.
Cider auction? Storyyeller, have you been talking to the writers again?
That illustration of the fashion show seems to have Fluttershy skulking angrily in the background.
“He knows what’s going to be hot before it’s even tepid!” Great line.
Twilight’s tail is actually a pretty good look for you, Rarity.
An argyle pattern as a cutie mark? What does that even mean?
“You can really feel the authenticity!” Oh, crap. Rarity, this stallion is a hipster of the worst kind. Get as far away from him as possible.
Rarity’s bawling her eyes out, but she hasn’t destroyed the shrine or shredded the photos, so she hasn’t gone off the deep end yet.
Spike is the best Straight Man here.
Fancy-schmancy cowboy boots. Wait, why didn’t I ever think of this earlier: those high heels on cowboy boots are specifically for keeping feet firmly planted in stirrups while riding a horse. WHAT THE
Uh oh. Calling it now: in the third act, Rarity’s obsession with impressing Trenderhoof, and her neglect for the festival preparations, will make it the worst. Festival. EVER.
It’s nice that, jealous as Rarity is, she isn’t taking any of her rage out on Applejack.
Wait, I spoke too soon.
And we have a title drop!
AJ’s going Manehattan on us! Orangejack has returned!
This is getting a little too real. AJ and Rare seem to be bringing some deep resentment to the light, here.
“Being the most interesting pony in Equestria is exhausting! I want to live on a farm!” AJ, put him to work. That’ll learn him right quick.
In conclusion: Love Makes You Stupid: The Episode.

Tender. By far. He at least had some point. Wasn't just an utter waste of time, and, doesn't raise question of why Rarity is falling for someone she JUST met, who is a whole other species, and she knows she will never see again in two days.
I really have no issue with Tenderhoof himself other then thinking he's an idiot. Just, with how obsessed with him Rarity was for no real reason I could see.
I want this to happen.
"Monsters are tragic beings. They are born too tall, too strong, too heavy. They are not evil by choice. That is their tragedy."What? What do I have to do with cider auctions? Oh wait, do you mean the generalized second price auction thing? Because this seemed more like one of those fancy charity auctions, not an attempt to ration supply.
I was actually amazed that this didn't happen.
Blind Final Fantasy 6 Let's PlaySpeaking of Sweetie, I wonder if Sweetie Drops is Lyra's pet name for Bon Bon.
Blind Final Fantasy 6 Let's Play@Starscream: Well, Build-A-Bear is going to have a Sweetie plushie soon. I want one too :3 (And I bet someone will fit one of these plushies with an animatronic endoskeleton and make 'em a Sweetie Bot Plushie)
Fluttershy tries to pass Big Mac Smartypants
Yep
:DDD Scootaloo too
Also Rarity in her fancy ranch dress reminded me of that fic where she goes to a rodeo in AJ's place.

The three finest things in life are to splat your enemies, drive them from their turf, and hear their lamentations as their rank falls!

No she was a bitch for what she did to Spike. She KNOWS exactly how he feels, and then, having the gall to whine to him about her crush not liking her, and outright saying he couldn't know what that felt like. Yeah, to far.
The dumbass part... everything she did was just so stupid, and for even dumber reasons. It wasn't to horridly OOC because yeah she does go overboard, but it was just plain annoying. And, it was never about him liking the town, or, anything but this random out of nowhere crush that just pops up for the sake of the plot, and to make her act like a moron. All while giving us no reason for her to care this much about him.
Between this, EQG, H&HD, seems the show is sending the message. "Becoming attracted to someone will make you act like an idiot." The show just, does not do characters getting into relationships well. Those already starting out in them end up fine, it's just, the getting started they can't do without turning at least one of them into an idiot in the process.
