A thread to discuss My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic and the tie-in media.
All of the usual forum rules
apply. In addition, please remember that the thread is discussing a kids' show, and it's primarily focused on the work itself, not the fanfic — in particular, we don't want to see lewdness creeping in.

-shivers- i always get nervous when the mods post.
All things are lawful for me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but all things edify not.Is there any other kind of posting in this thread? I mean, everyone, including lurkers like me, seem to be enjoying themselves, but we're definitely stretching the usually rather strictly enforced definition of "on topic".
Not that I mind, really, though I'm looking forward to checking this thread when there is an episode out so that the discussions can finally make sense, if even just a little.
On a different topic that is relevant to today (because the Olympics Opening Ceremony is today), I'm very curious to see if the Equestria Games themselves will be on the show, and what happens there besides the obvious "ponies competing at athletic events" thing. And even with that, I'm curious to see what kinds of athletic events they have besides the ones we know about, like the relay racing and some kind of track-and-field ground race (that was shown in Games Ponies Play when Shining Armor was coaching the ponies who were running around a track when Twilight came to talk to him). Maybe they might have events that use the special skills of the other types of ponies besides just flying races for pegasi, like a strength competition for Earth ponies or a magic target shooting event for unicorns.
I would think that with all this build-up, the actual games will be shown, though, at least they would have the relay event Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy are competing in. And yes, I am aware of the theory that the games will be the finale and that the box will be opened there, which could very well happen in my opinion. They do seem to be building up the Games over the course of the 3rd and 4th seasons the same way the Gala was built up over the 1st season.

Yeah, the games are definitely a thing that are going to happen on-screen. Not sure if we get to see much of the Rainbow/Fluttershy/Bulk relay team, though. I mean, them losing is pretty much a given, and they've done pretty much all they can with that particular plot during the qualifications.
Maybe we'll see them for a bit, but I doubt it will be longer than a minute of some sort of comedy.

@Rin: Funny as it would be, production cycles mean there's really no way to be actually on-point about anything.
Birthright: an original web novel about Dragons, the Burdens of Leadership, and Mangoes.

Ugh, word of advice. Don't drink any cafeen while with a cold, my coffee just gave me a bad headache.
