A thread to discuss My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic and the tie-in media.
All of the usual forum rules
apply. In addition, please remember that the thread is discussing a kids' show, and it's primarily focused on the work itself, not the fanfic — in particular, we don't want to see lewdness creeping in.

Good point. The laws of physics are already curled up in a corner, weeping inconsolably.
Visit my Tumblr! I may say things. The Bureau ProjectActually, the Laws of Physics are perfectly fine with Pinkie's shenanigans. They got bored after several millennia of the same old thing, so when Pinkie got her cutie mark, they decided on a whim to let the future Element of Laughter the ability to utterly ignore them so long as it would be funny.
Of course, the Laws of Physics knew that even a little harmless fun could be potentially destructive if left unchecked, so they took a physical form in order to keep watch on her. We know this avatar of theirs as Gummy.
That would explain his complete inertia.
I assume. I am not a science man.
Visit my Tumblr! I may say things. The Bureau ProjectIn other news, I was looking through comments of various stories on Fimfic, and saw someone complaining about the use of the word 'apocryphal' in a story because they didn't know what it meant and so 'it broke immersion'. Seriously?
Blind Final Fantasy 6 Let's Play
While it does annoy me to see words used incorrectly, "apocryphal" is probably one of those words I'd let slide because it's not all that commonly used. So it's a lot easier to believe the character themself is getting it wrong.
No, the commenter was complaining because he himself didn't know what the word meant and had to look it up.
Now I'm tempted to work it into my story somewhere just out of spite.
Blind Final Fantasy 6 Let's Play... does that really count as breaking immersion? I mean, yes it takes you out of the story for a minute because you don't know what's going on. But it doesn't break your suspension of disbelief or anything... does it?
http://h0useb0und.tumblr.com/While the overuse of Sesquipedalian Loquaciousness is a bad thing in literature, complaining about one single word comes off as petty. And also makes one want to say "just look it up, dumbass".
Well I'm gonna hit the hay. Kegi, when you get here can you send me a PM with your schedule and any character ideas you might have for the Mutants and Masterminds campaign?
http://h0useb0und.tumblr.com/RE: Fancy words breaking immersion: I have had people criticise me for using words like 'Sconce' before(Used to describe, well, a sconce; it's the term for a candle/light set on a wall).
I think it's silly, personally.
Birthright: an original web novel about Dragons, the Burdens of Leadership, and Mangoes. It's only immersion-breaking if you were reading about a tea party with scones.

I always kept wondering what if they did a Mars Attacks! My Little Pony comic, anyone think that'd be a crazy enough idea to work well?
...Probably not?

The crazy part is that I read an article that said there actually were plans to do a Mars Attacks! My Little Pony comic....
EDIT: Here's that article
I mentioned reading. It briefly explains how such a crazy concept would be plausible.

I guess she was already planning to break it then.
