A thread to discuss My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic and the tie-in media.
All of the usual forum rules
apply. In addition, please remember that the thread is discussing a kids' show, and it's primarily focused on the work itself, not the fanfic — in particular, we don't want to see lewdness creeping in.

Now, we should get her to write an actual episode.
Visit my Tumblr! I may say things. The Bureau ProjectNah, Meghan is writing this season's. Maybe next season.
Visit my Tumblr! I may say things. The Bureau ProjectSo, finally got a little closure on my depression. As I'd suspected and feared a little, I have Dysthimia, which basically means that although I don't have the lows I used to, it's much more persistent than normal and is almost constant. I requested antidepressants, but insurance being the mess it is, I'll need to find someone willing to work with mine and it's likely going to take a month or more before I get any.
@Dark: Well, at least you made some sort of progress. Here's hoping things work out.
Reaction Image RepositoryNot sure what dysthimia is but I can sympathize with the depression issues. I've been taking medicine for mine for around two years.
http://h0useb0und.tumblr.com/Thanks, guys. I've had some therapy lately that's trying to rekindle some emotion and it's having a slight amount of success. It's extremely weird feeling anything, even just a tiny amount, to the point where laughing feels utterly alien because I haven't been able to do that in a few years. But, for the first time in half a decade, I'm starting to hope I can feel something again, and it wouldn't have happened without you guys to encourage and listen to a few of my problems. You guys have been great friends and all I can say is, thank you.
@Dark We're all here for ya, Dark. I don't know how I can put depression...damn it. Coming from a person who's been depressed for a long time, it'll hopefully work out. We're all hoping.

https://youtu.be/_1F5HhUvFbM?si=csgwerqELcG6615qI think the worst part was the hope spot after the war is over and he gets food. Admittedly, the beginning makes it a forgone conclusion.
Blind Final Fantasy 6 Let's PlayYay for helping friends feel better!
... Why doesn't google chrome recognize "yay" as a word

http://h0useb0und.tumblr.com/Can we stop talking about that movie for a little while? I'm beginning to tear up a bit just from thinking about it. I mean, not Neverending Story tearing up...
https://youtu.be/_1F5HhUvFbM?si=csgwerqELcG6615q@Dark: Glad to hear that you're making progress. I hope you can break loose from what sounds like a bad condition.

Blind Final Fantasy 6 Let's PlayDysthymia is a familiar word. I may or may not have it myself (it was one of the suspects on the list, anyway), but I chickened out after the second session before anything definite could be pinpointed.
From what I've read about it, it sounds like a drag.
This "faculty lot" you speak of sounds like a place of great power...Here's a bit of what the other wiki has to say about it. According to the diagnosis manual DSM-IV's definition of dysthymia, it is a serious state of chronic depression, which persists for at least 2 years (1 year for children and adolescents); it is less acute and severe than major depressive disorder. As dysthymia is a chronic disorder, sufferers may experience symptoms for many years before it is diagnosed, if diagnosis occurs at all. As a result, they may believe that depression is a part of their character, so they may not even discuss their symptoms with doctors, family members, or friends.
Dysthymia has a number of typical characteristics: low energy and drive, low self-esteem, and a low capacity for pleasure in everyday life. Mild degrees of dysthymia may result in people withdrawing from stress and avoiding opportunities for failure. In more severe cases of dysthymia, people may even withdraw from daily activities altogether out of fear and anxiety. They will usually find little pleasure in usual activities and pastimes. Diagnosis of dysthymia can be difficult because of the subtle nature of the symptoms and patients can often hide them in social situations making it challenging for others to detect symptoms. Additionally, dysthymia often occurs at the same time as other psychological disorders, which adds a level of complexity in determining the presence of dysthymia, particularly because there is often an overlap in the symptoms of disorders.[7] There is a high incidence of comorbid illness in those with dysthymia. Suicidal behavior is also a particular problem.
@Dark: Yeah, that sounds rough. If you ever want to talk about stuff we're all here.

Same here. They have their own wacky charm and feel pretty show-accurate.
