A thread to discuss My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic and the tie-in media.
All of the usual forum rules
apply. In addition, please remember that the thread is discussing a kids' show, and it's primarily focused on the work itself, not the fanfic — in particular, we don't want to see lewdness creeping in.

Heh, I remember renting LUNAR: Silver Star for the Sega CD way back. I think the Sega CD was a 1x speed reader, so screen transitions took something like a minute. It frustrated the hell out of me (to be fair, I was probably something like 8 years old) and I don't think I even got past the first dungeon because of that.

@JT: More like fortunately. There weren't that many good games on the system, and only about 3 or 4 of them were worth playing. One of which you can find on game compilations and Xbox Live anyway.
Aren't augers part of a drill?
Anyway, I'm about to watch Grave Of The Fireflies. Time to see if it lives up to its reputation as the most depressing animated kids movie ever.
Blind Final Fantasy 6 Let's PlayI've never seen Grave of the Fireflies, but it never seemed like a kids' movie to me (just because it's animation...).
pearlina brainrot affects millions of people worldwide. if you or a loved one are suffering from pearlina brainrot, call 1-800-GAY-NERDSI'm quite happy to let Grave of the Fireflies be critically acclaimed and never ever watch it.
I don't think my soul can take it, based on stuff I've heard.
Visit my Tumblr! I may say things. The Bureau ProjectI will never watch Grave of the Fireflies. I can't stop crying during The Neverending Story when the horse drowns in the sadness swamp or when the girl tells the kid to save them.
Also, Game Grumps are playing Night Trap right now!

All things are lawful for me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but all things edify not.Hey, if a human female Cheese Sandwich makes you feel weird, maybe this pony one will make the bad feelings go away.
Regarding the books. Apparently Amy Keeting Rodgers is writing the journal, which will be 170 pages, and G M Barro's working on the 3 Daring Do novels which are around 250 pages each. These aren't as much as they sound, as there's some pictures and larger font for the younger readers, so the journal should be about 15k and the novels 28k words a piece. Also, we do get an A K Yearling about the author blurb, as I suspected.
A.K. Yearling's adventure novels starring the fearless Daring Do have been recognized as the best-selling series in Equestria history. Yearling holds a degree in Literature from Pranceton University. After college, she briefly worked as a researcher at the National Archives for Equestrian Artifacts and Ponthropology in Canterlot. During that time, she wrote an essay based on her findings on the Griffon territories entitled "What was the Name of that Griffon Again? Or Beak and Roaming Studies Recalled." It was published last year by the University of Equexeter's journal, Pegasus. She enjoys quiet time at her home alone and long trots on the beach.

Ah Nighttrap, one of the classic games on the Sega CD. An add on to the Sega Genesis when C Ds were young and most of the games for it were like watching movies but on a more wide blurry screen.
