A thread to discuss My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic and the tie-in media.
All of the usual forum rules
apply. In addition, please remember that the thread is discussing a kids' show, and it's primarily focused on the work itself, not the fanfic — in particular, we don't want to see lewdness creeping in.

@Crow, JT and Midna: All joking aside, even if I wasn't a shipper, I'd still hate him for being a bland love interest with no character flaws or personality {Which is my other primary reason for despising him}, on top of how utterly shoehorned and pointless he was. And yet some people still insist that he's "The perfect boyfriend" or some crap like that.
Like, I'm generally okay when she's shipped with someone else {Like say for instance one of the other mane 5, or Trixie}, but Flash/Twilight is a pairing that I specifically hate.

Flash Sentry was Flash Sentry and that's all there is to it in my opinion. I'm indifferent.
Also, hi Midna.
http://h0useb0und.tumblr.com/I still don't think he really did enough for me to hate him. He's just... there.
Reaction Image RepositoryFunny that the best AJ episode is the one where she only has 1/4th the spotlight.

That's enough, and not just because he's stealing everyone's waifu. Twilight is an interesting, dynamic character, and if she does get romantically involved with someone, it needs to be another interesting, dynamic character. Anything less is offensively boring.

It's a lot easier if you just use quotes like me.
@Ud: Unlikely on episode 13, if it's 'Simple Ways'. That seems more like Rarity's bag.

CDRW: Yes, this. I'm not entirely against Twilight hooking up with someone, but respect her character enough to have it be someone who's interesting in their own right. Twi and Flash literally exchange less than a dozen words before she starts visibly crushing on him. What the shit is that? Unless she has a fetish for accidentally bumping into people.

@CDRW: Thing is, he isn't set up as an actual romantic lead. He's nice to her, and there's some very mild ship tease, but there's never even an implication that they're ever really going to get involved with each other besides a vague "Twilight thinks he's cute" kinda teasing. I agree that if they ever tried to actually set them up it would be a really terrible decision, but I didn't think they pushed the romance angle hard enough for me to have that response. That's what I mean by "he didn't do anything". He's the "romantic lead" insofar as he's present in that slot in the cast, but he doesn't really ever do anything that romantic, at least not that gets reciprocated at all.
Reaction Image Repository@JT: Even just the "Twilight thinks he's cute" angle doesn't make any sense. She's known about humans for like a day, why would she be physically attracted to us? Even shitty self insert human/pony romance fics will usually at least address the interspecies thing, albeit briefly. I can only assume that the transformation flooded her with human teenager hormones that she wasn't sure how to deal with.
I still want an episode that is a behind-the-scenes look at the making of 'Friendship is Magic', Equestria's most popular TV show. There would be 'Cast' interviews, behind-the-scenes drama, and Derpy is actually played by a method actor who is outraged that her scenes got cut. There could be a whole bit about 'fan' reactions to the season 3 finale that parodies the real fanbase's issues.
