A thread to discuss My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic and the tie-in media.
All of the usual forum rules
apply. In addition, please remember that the thread is discussing a kids' show, and it's primarily focused on the work itself, not the fanfic — in particular, we don't want to see lewdness creeping in.

@Rainbow. yeah, I could imagine her vision starting as a bright and cheery party with streamers and balloons, waiting for ponies to show up. But nopony does as the party room darkens as the balloons deflate, the candles go out, and she's left all alone. she has a sudden Hope Spot when she sees her friends talking outside about their day's schedule. Yet her name never comes up once, and they depart on their merry way as the scene fades to black with the only thing left being her voice as it echos, crying out for anyone with no one to hear.
Bonus points with a brief orchestral bit of Smile plays in the background as they give her a group hug.

@dark: And then what starts out as a Tear Jerker turns into a Heartwarming Moment as the other 5 ponies pull Pinkie out of her nightmare, reassuring her that they would never forget her and reminding her how much they love her as their friend.
Wow, these two scenarios (the nightmare and breaking Pinkie out of it) sound like something that actually would be on the show, too. That was a very good nightmare scenario, Dark, something that would be a perfect Tear Jerker scene not only for the audience but for Pinkie in the show as well. That's exactly the kind of thing I was thinking of.

WHAT
LIVE ACTION IN MLP
WHAT IS THIS HERESY
Pretty fun episode overall. Good ol' idealistic slice-of-life MLP is back, except with a cool new twist. There was a lot of song spam, like in "Magical Mystery Cure", but at least the songs were fun.
My impression of Season 4 so far is that the writers have been given a lot more freedom; they don't (have to) adhere to the formula and atmosphere as rigidly as before. It's as if Hasbro told the writers, "Go nuts!" and nuts they went. That has resulted in some terrible episodes and some great ones. This one definitely falls in the latter category.

Mache dich, mein Herze, rein...Well, guys. I bought the 1st 2 seasons of Adventure Time. (pulls out can full of LSD) Wish me luck.
https://youtu.be/_1F5HhUvFbM?si=csgwerqELcG6615q@Marcen Funny you should I have now watched 3 episodes in season 1 of Adventure Time and ya know...I kinda like it. For all the times I've been annoyed at my sister for going on about this show, it's not half bad. But I may need further episodes so can't say yet whether I'm a fan or not.

"Transform and Roll out!" Optimus Prime@marcen: trust me, you won't need the LSD with this show.
All things are lawful for me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but all things edify not.@Star I'm excited. I also got a poster of the show...and put it right beside my Regular Show poster.
@crimson I do, actually. The LSD will make the show more NORMAL.
https://youtu.be/_1F5HhUvFbM?si=csgwerqELcG6615qThanks, Rainbow. I imagined what kind of situation the show would come up with and went from there. Rarity's could be something similar.
She'd be hard at work, coming up with a new design with a bell being heard from the other room in her shop. She rushes over, excitedly seeming to speak with a Canterlot noble like say Fancypants. When she arrives at her door though, it shows her aura fading off the bell as she'd rung it herself and happily placing the clothes over a manikin, cutting back to show a row of dozens of clothed imitations of ponies, with her speaking as if other ponies were requesting orders. Going into sanity slippage as she works more and more to fill orders that aren't there, running back to her sewing machine working herself to exhaustion so she can pretend she's being generous. Her last needle snaps as she frantically searches for another, tripping over hanging cloth, with the shadows giving the clothing snakelike tails as it smothers and wraps her in her own empty work nopony wants.
@Star You'd have to follow my train of thought to look at my point of view. But my train of thought is more a NASCAR driving car of thoughts. My friend tells me that my mind is like one of those Eisher designs.
https://youtu.be/_1F5HhUvFbM?si=csgwerqELcG6615q@Star Uh huh. Yeah. I can't wait until the 3rd season of Adventure Time comes out on DVD 3 weeks.
https://youtu.be/_1F5HhUvFbM?si=csgwerqELcG6615qWe got the joke, it just wasn't that funny.

Pinkie really hates feeling abandoned, doesn't she? And she easily gets afraid that she's going to be abandoned or replaced or that her friends are going to forget about her, like in Wonderbolt Academy. If she ever had the misfortune to look into that door in King Sombra's castle that makes you see your worst nightmare, she would probably see her friends and maybe even her family completely ignoring her and having forgotten that she ever existed. At least in the visions that Discord made her see, her friends were mocking her but that still means they were paying attention to her and acknowledging her existence, even if it was in a negative way.
When the thread was talking earlier about greeting people like service workers or if someone randomly waves or says hi, Pinkie would be the type to do that to everyone but she also expects that others would greet her in return because her whole self-worth seems to hinge on whether or not other ponies like her.
