A thread to discuss My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic and the tie-in media.

Meta Pie might works. Short for Metamorphic Pie as well as hinting she might be closest to Pinkie.
The Crystal Caverns A bird's gotta sing.Doubtful that Discord lives with Fluttershy.
Not yet, anyway.
I put my friend in a coconut! He lives in my hat! Hey, come hang out!Igneous Pie is her father. I'm guessing Pinkameana was the hospital clerks misreading "Pink Marble".
The Crystal Caverns A bird's gotta sing.@Librarian: She wasn't named in the book, but Word of God says that we'll be meeting her this season.
Long live Cinematech. FC:0259-0435-4987I know that, that's why I'm surprised to see her!
You there! Check out my Youtube Channel! The power of Ponies compel you!We never did get her name, but nom and I are correct, she did appear in the book.
[[ “Hi, Mom! Hey there, Dad! How’s it going, Marble? What’s new, Limestone? Where’s—?”
“Your older sister is keeping an eye on the farm,” Igneous cut her off.
“Oh, okay. So what are you guys doing here?! I’m so totally surprised!”
A third sister was mentioned in Pinkie Pie and the Rockin' Ponypalooza Party.
As for this episode...
Yeah, best episode so far this season. And definitely agree with Shota. My biggest fear going in was that Cheese Sandwich would be Flim and Flam as a party ponynote , but so glad it didn't end that way.
I like the name Amethyst Pie.
@ Orion: Um...why are you a changeling? Or should I not ask?
I put my friend in a coconut! He lives in my hat! Hey, come hang out!I imagine rainbow energy will shoot out and fill the keyholes.
So, key morals so far.
Rarity: There will be those who will try and take advantage of your generosity and trusting nature. But you mustn't let them make you jaded, or change who you are. Being a good person is worth it.
Rainbow Dash: You have friends who trust you and depend on you. Keeping their trust and helping them to succeed is more rewarding than siding with the likely winners.
Pinkie Pie: Spreading laughter and happiness is, at its core, a selfless act. You can't let your pride get in the way of the original goal; making people happy.
@Syd: To denote that it's me and not Orion who is on.
O-kaaaay...
I put my friend in a coconut! He lives in my hat! Hey, come hang out!Okay, now that the episode has officially aired, I can safely put out my opinions of it:
I liked it a lot, especially because Cheese Sandwich was NOT an "evil rival" character who would purposely sabotage Pinkie or try to purposely drive her out of Ponyville like the Flim Flams. Like I hoped, most of the rivalry was in Pinkie's head, which was made worse by the other ponies getting so excited about Cheese that they made her feel rejected. And that Pinkie learned a lesson and had to realize that a birthday party isn't about her pride as a party planner but about what the birthday pony wants (and to pay attention to how someone is feeling when you're trying to entertain them), and that she could team up with Cheese Sandwich rather than being his rival. I was a little afraid it would be like the Gilda story where Pinkie was right all along that this newcomer taking Rainbow Dash away from her was bad news, but thankfully that did not happen.
Of course I also enjoyed the antics of both Pinkie and Cheese Sandwich, plus all the callbacks to earlier episodes such as the list of previous parties, Matilda reappearing, and the construction site. I also noticed that a filly Derpy was in the flashback party scene, which fits my personal headcanon that she's in the same general age range as the Mane Six. (I think that it's possible the adult "Derpy" that we saw in the Cutie Mark Chronicles flashback could have been an older relative of hers like her mom or an aunt) There were a lot of other things that I will probably notice when I rewatch it, because there was a lot going on in this episode concerning not only Pinkie and Cheese's antics but also the background ponies (I was mostly following the story and also more likely to notice Derpy because I was specifically watching for her).

And thus we've come full circle.
You there! Check out my Youtube Channel! The power of Ponies compel you!So that leaves Fluttershy, AJ, and Twilight. My guess is, Twi will be the last key while also being the episode where the box is unlocked.
AJ will learn that honesty is a situational thing. While it may be good to be honest, there may be a point where it is inappropriate.
No clue what Fluttershy will learn.
We are all made of star stuff. Very, very weird star stuff.

@ Nomuru: "Good morning" to you, too.
