@Teeth I've heard a couple of songs from Death. From what I've heard, they went back to their Epic Rocking roots. Anyone else beg to differ or agree?

I like the Unforgiven III and how it neatly wraps up that cycle of songs.

Within Temptation is awesome. Their gothic rock stuff isn't bad, but when they became fully symphonic is when they grew the beard.

Speaking of awesome metal, here's a cool Ayreon pmv:

@Marcen: Yeah, they basically went back to their roots. It wasn't quite as good the initial albums, but still worth a listen.'

[up]I still need to catch up on Ayreon. I only have their first album at the moment.

@Teeth Well, no band's later stuff is as good as their earlier albums...at least to my knowledge.

@Teeth I only know Remember The Name and Cowboys from Hell. I think they're ok but I'm more heavy metal and grunge.

But post grunge. (shudders)

You really should. Into the electric castle is his magnum opus for a reason. It was his first double album, had a cast of fun characters with an unbelievable amount of ham, and a great combination of space and folk metal. To give you an idea how over the top it is, there's a song consisting of a Roman, a hippie, an Egyptian priestess, an Arthurian knight of the Round Table, a Scottish Highlander, and a norse barbarian trying to out boast each other in song accompanied by blazing guitars and flutes.

@Star Nickleback...(sigh) You know what? I'll take Nickleback over Creed any month, any week, any day, any hour, any minute, any SECOND of any time.

@CD Not really. Their songs are apparently all sound the same. But, unlike Creed, I find them tolerable.

So, just watched the Billy episode. Somehow, I don't see MLP ever doing an aesop like that.

Wow Story, that was quick. And agreed, it would be unlikely they'd do a spoof aesop that sometimes, yes violence is the answer.

Hope you can get season 2, the first episode It Came from the Nightosphere is a fan favorite featuring Marceline's dad.

Nickleback isn't that bad. They aren't great, but they aren't terrible either. Why the hate?

@Ike I think it's because people think their overexposed. I think it's because their songs sound the same. Now, with that being said, I can tell a lot of their songs apart. I don't think they're THAT bad, especially when you see that post grunge can be much worse, I'm looking at you, Creed. I will occasionally listen to them. I just don't know where the hate came from. One day, nothing is happening. The next, all over the world, Nickleback is like Music's Public Enemy Number One...we all know that Creed has that title locked, loaded and never ever going to take that away. I would rather listen to Lulu by Metallica and Lou Reed than one song from Creed. Nickleback is not that bad. I guess it's because their suddenly popular even though they've been around for over a decade. I would like to tell people who say that Nickleback songs sound the same and, its about the same thing, I'm like, "What about AC/DC?" They've been doing the same thing for YEARS. They talk about partying all night long, Hell, they actually say that's their shtick! They said that OUT LOUD. I think the real question is "Why is it that one band doing the same thing good and for another it's terrible." It's because Nickleback sounds mediocre and they've been doing that forever? I honestly am confused. In short, Nickleback does NOT get the sudden hate. They still have their fans, their album sales are strong and radio stations still play them. So, enough with the hate.

I've never been big on AC/DC either, for that reason. I mean, you can just pick up one or two albums and you don't really need much else.

@Teeth I'm just tired of people saying that Nickleback is accused of doing the same thing on every song when AC/DC did it for 3 decades. Three. Decades.

@Marcen: I'm ambivalent to Nickelback, honestly. They're not the type of music I listen to, so I just don't. I don't really feel anything about them one way or the other. As opposed to say, Justin Bieber or Lady Gaga, because it's freaking impossible to get away from them.

@Marcen That could be applied to virtually any band in particular, I don't get the hate for Nickelback either but it's kind of unfair to compare one band that's part of a different genre of music to a band that's been around for quite some time. So if anything it's just because Nickelback are popular and people just lashing out because of the fact.

@Japanese Teeth With those people it can be justified because you hear 'em everywhere you go. Whilst with a band like Nickelback it's kind of stretching it.
