@Star (laughs) Awesome.

@CD Oh, so you're into punk rock and grunge? If you do, listen to Dirt by Alice In Chains, my favorite grunge album ever. Yes. I choose that over Nevermind by Nirvana.

Yeah that's nothing at all?I've seen far odder and less justified excuses for worse ships.

And I like the band, but they overshadow a lot of good 60s groups.

I'll second that Dirt is a great album.

As far as Nirvana goes, they are good, but I prefer several of their other songs to "Smells Like Teen Spirit". Pearl Jam's Ten is pretty good, too, though Vedder's singing style is...unique. Haven't listened to much of their other stuff.

Twidence I understand. Cadence not loving shining armor I do not. As said above, it contradicts canon directly. So unless the story starts before/during the changeling attack (which seems unlikely) it doesn't really make sense.

I don't really know if I like punk/grunge yet. They might just be more of those genres where I like individual songs, but not much else. I do know that I don't like Smells Like Teen Spirit. The song that convinced me to look into Nirvana is Where Did You Sleep Last Night.

Also evidently I'm late. I agree that nirvana and pearl jam are awesome, along with Rolling Stones, ac/dc, Mötley Crüe, guns and roses, etc.

... My iPod autocorrected motley Crüe.

Well, the first time it got both words. What the hell, autocorrect.

I fricking love Nirvana. I had a friend recommend me to them once and they are quite good. Also things like Jimi Hendrix and what have you.

Oh god, that song is a damn tear jerker. particularly if you've listened to Nirvana's unplugged for the first time, and that scream at the end...

One of my favorites is Jesus Don't Want me for a Sunbeam.

In general their southern rock covers are some of their best work.

[down] yes and yes. Grandma Take me Home and Polly are also good.

@Marcen I don't really have a favourite album but then again it's pretty much my answer to every favourite question ever. But anyways in terms of Rock/Heavy metal music I was into: Ozzy Osbourne, Metallica, Aerosmith, Motorhead, Motley Crue, Disturbed, Judas Priest a bit of Rob Zombie lots of stuff in that genre.

Speaking of crackships, last night one randomly popped into my head: Octavia/Mayor. Unlike Celestia, the Mayor has never even been in the same city as Octavia.

@Star I only know a few songs from Metallica and Aerosmith. I, honestly, like Nirvana, Alice In Chains, Pearl Jam, Foo Fighters. There's more I can't think of any at the moment.

@Marcen: If you look into Metallica, stick with their first four albums. The fifth one is okay, but the first four are all classics.

@Teeth I've heard about that. So, Load, Reload, St.Anger and Lulu are their bad albums? I hear that ...And Justice For All and The Black Album are pretty polarising.

I only know Ozzy Osbourne as the car upgrade guy in Brutal Legend. As for bands, I don't listen to metal much. The only one I can think of is Dragonforce.

Also, interesting article for those wondering why 2 inches of snow caused so much devastation in Atlanta.

@Star I will be honest. I can take St. Anger and Frantic...whenever I feel like it. Somedays, I cannot stand it. But, I've heard that St Anger is Master of Puppets compared to Lulu. What do you think of Death Magnetic?

I like Metallica, but mostly the stuff from the Black Album up to one song on Death Magnetic. I've also found a few songs from Disturbed and Sammael that are nice, but I don't like their sound overall. Historically, I've liked the weirder stuff like Within Temptation and Birthday Massacre.

Re Load is the album that got me into Metallica. I swear I don't have bad taste, though.

Load and Reload aren't the So Bad Its Horrible albums that some people make them out to be, they just pale in comparison to the bands earlier stuff. Death Magnetic is a middle ground; not quite as good as the classics, but better than anything else in the post-Black Album era. St. Anger is just bad, and while I haven't listened to Lulu, general consensus is that it barely even qualifies as a Metallica album.

[up]Go back and listen to Ride the Lightning and Master of Puppets. tongue
