A thread to discuss My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic and the tie-in media.

All of the usual forum rules apply. In addition, please remember that the thread is discussing a kids' show, and it's primarily focused on the work itself, not the fanfic — in particular, we don't want to see lewdness creeping in.

I have the headcanon that she use to be a gold-digger type of pony {You know, someone who's only interested in another person for their money}, but after she hung around with Fancy Pants, she started to genuinely love him as time went on and eventually Took a Level in Kindness by the time we actually see her in the show.

Also, there's something that's been on my mind that's been angering me to no end, and while it's not pony related I'm sure it's something that you all would agree sucks either way {It's not a RL thing, but rather something Sonic Archie Comics-related that happened recently}. And I feel the need to rant about it, but I also don't want to turn this thread into a negative bitch-fest too, so I'm not sure what to do.

The only thing you can really say about Fleur de Lis is she's commonly fancy's fillyfriend. She doesn't have a fanon personality, so there's not much to work off of.

[up]What a tweest!tongue

But seriously, that movie looked like a disaster from the trailers alone, so it's not surprising that it failed.

@Mars Be honest. If the movie came out when you were younger, would you have watched it? I know I would have.

Possibly, yeah. Though it depends on how young you mean.

I still wouldn't. I mean, assuming it came out in the context of modern movies. If it was just that one movie coming out in the 90s, I'd probably watch it just because anything with CGI today is highly impressive by 90s standards.

Fun fact about the round robin fic: The chapter I got deliberately left open the question of Sunny Skies' real identity, with two specific options presented in the text. My initial thought was to Take a Third Option and make her be Fleur-de-Lis in disguise instead, and from that I was inspired to twist the story in the direction it went. And then I ended up not using Fleur-de-Lis at all, but keeping the plot that was inspired by her.

You know what I think would be funny? Floor de lis. Someone go draw her as the floor of a building. Please.

Aside from the first Universal film and few Hammer Horror productions for pure cheese value, my favorite Franky movie is Young Frankenstein. It even had a homage to the book version when he became intelligent.

@Dark That is true, my friend. Young Frankenstein is awesome.

I remember watching Dracula when I was 11. I borrowed it from the library, where I am currently, back when VHS was still around. (I miss those VHS tapes like crazy). It wasn't for any school project but I really wanted to watch the Bela Legosi movie. When I watched it, I was expecting to be scared, but really, I wasn't. I realized later on that it was the mood of the film that mostly suck with me. I think that it was because I was so used to watched movies with jump scares and blood that I was disappointed when I saw it had none of those things. Anyone else affected in a way like this?

I don't think I've watched any of the classic horror movies.

Christopher Lee will always be one of my favorite Draculas, so much epic ham. Cushing pretty much defined the modern badass Vanhelsing vampire hunter.

I have never seen Christopher Lee's take on Dracula but I have heard things about him. Every time I mention his name 5 times out of 10 the people I'm talking to will always think about his role as Dracula.

@Marcen Gary Oldman defiantly is one of the best Draculas out there.

@Star Now, I have to see it. I read the book "101 Horror Movies To Watch" and I saw him in it. Maybe, I should see it. Maybe...

PS. If anyone out there saw Gary Oldman's Dracula...from one to 10, one being okay and 10 being horrible....how bad is Keanu Reeves's accent.

I can't stand horror movies. One time I saw a review of a zombie movie online at my ex's request, and that freaked me the hell out.

@Ike I have a friend who is scared of horror movies and, even if there are people around him, even if it's the day time, like the window is right beside him and it's clear day out, he wouldn't watch it.

@Marcen Keanu Reeves' british accent, I'd probably give a 7/10. It's not as bad as Dick Van Dyke's english accent as Bert in Mary Poppins but it's defiantly bad.
