A thread to discuss My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic and the tie-in media.

In Movie 43, I kind of liked the Emma Stone/Kieran Culkin skit. It wasn't funny but it was actually entertaining. And then the Knoxville and Stifler skit was darkly entertaining. I think my main problem with the movie was that...there were good premises but the jokes are old and dated. There wasn't many sex jokes that went too far. It was just gross out humor, not much else.

@Marcen It doesn't really help matters when the movie's sketches are MEANT to be bad in the first place because the whole premise anyway is a guy just pitching his bad movie idea to a movie producer.

@Story It was just disappointing. I don't think it deserves being nominated for worst picture of 2013. I'm at the library right now and I think I'm going to borrow The Heat.

@Teeth It is called Bile Fascination. You know it's going to be bad, you have every right not to see it...but you HAVE to see it. Like me with Movie 43. I had every right not to see it. But I HAD to.

Meh, don't really get Bile Fascination. If I know it's bad, I just won't watch it if I don't think I'll enjoy it.

@Marcen: I can see that for stuff like Plan Nine From Outer Space or Manos The Hands Of Fate, but not for something that's just Gross-Out Show: The Movie.

Pretty much the only reason I really get for watching something people seem to extol how bad it is is just to see if it really IS that bad.

@Teeth Yeah...also. Manos was, in my opinion, much harder to sit through than Movie 43. Even when I watch the MST 3 K episode.

If something has a So Bad, It's Good reputation or just kitch cheesieness in general, I'll give it a shot. Subspecies, Hell Comes to Frogtown, Poultrygeist: Night of the Chicken Dead, and the Vampire Lovers as examples.

They suck, but not badly enough to be entertaining.

At least the Mario and Street Fighter live-actions were somewhat entertaining.

I dunno, I found the Mortal Kombat movie to be just bad. I guess it has something to do with reducing two of my favourite characters into silent cameo mooks.

@Japanese Teeth And also ripe for riffing and I know I'm shamelessly promoting them but if you haven't already go watch Rifftrax take on the Twilight seriously these guys are brilliant.
