A thread to discuss My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic and the tie-in media.
All of the usual forum rules
apply. In addition, please remember that the thread is discussing a kids' show, and it's primarily focused on the work itself, not the fanfic — in particular, we don't want to see lewdness creeping in.

Hey, as long as its not another My Immortal story, I'll be ok...speaking of which, the story wasn't as awful as everyone made it out to be. I'll still call it the Citizen Kane of bad fanfics but it's not awful. Maybe it's because I've read more deranged fanfics than necessary.
https://youtu.be/_1F5HhUvFbM?si=csgwerqELcG6615q@Marcen: They... didn't stop doing it, I don't think. It just got less advertised.
Last I saw they were up to like, the higher 20's. And let me tell you, the music that constitutes popular lately coming from children is... unnerving.
Birthright: an original web novel about Dragons, the Burdens of Leadership, and Mangoes.BTW, you all know that I don't like Equestria Girls, but the EQG designs have kind of grown on me at least in regards to fanart. I still think they look bad in the show's animation when they aren't moving {Except for Rarity and Sunset Shimmer's designs, which look decent}, but the fan art makes them look amazing, especially in that one RD pic I linked to last night {Alongside the other stuff that artist does}.

@Keg I was in denial...now I'm back to reality. Well...it can't get any worse.
@MARS I'm a bit scared to see Equestria Girls. Even though, Word of God, it's canon.

https://youtu.be/_1F5HhUvFbM?si=csgwerqELcG6615qWell, it's not a terrible movie, and it could have been much worse, but it also could have been a bit better too. And sure, it might be canon, but it's about as canon as most Filler stuff tends to be, by which I mean you can easily ignore it to the point where it might as well should have never happened. I also wonder why this movie get's more fan attention then the awesome FIM comics, but whatever.

I'm just wondering how they're going to handle it, since even the first movie was stretching things, and each sequel will just make things worse.
Blind Final Fantasy 6 Let's Play@mars Well, eventually it'll become a hidden gem in terms of MLP. Eventually, people are going to say that it took chances, made some mistakes and got mes...(shakes head). My point is that I'll watch this eventually. I have to be in the right mindset. Like when I watched This Is The End when I got home from work at 12 in the morning. I wasn't tired, I wanted to watch it. Now, that I found that I can trust movies again, I'm going to watch Movie 43 later.
https://youtu.be/_1F5HhUvFbM?si=csgwerqELcG6615q@Marston: Well, movies are a more popular medium than comics in general.
Birthright: an original web novel about Dragons, the Burdens of Leadership, and Mangoes.@Mars (places hand on shoulders) I know. I'm at the library now and I picked up from the shelf. I knew about the movie. I knew about the reviews. I knew what everyone said. I knew the jest of it. And now I have to watch it. I'm not doing this for anyone. I'm not doing it for any v-logs. I'm not doing it for the sake of the world. I'm doing it because I have to. I cant explain why. But it's something I have to do.
https://youtu.be/_1F5HhUvFbM?si=csgwerqELcG6615q@ Marston: Is it worse than Biodome? I only watched The Nostalgia Critic's review of it, and even that was too much footage for me. *shudder*

@CDRW: At the very least it's up to the same level of badness as Bio-Dome {Except 100% more vulgar and with even less of a story, if the latter is at all possible}. It might be worse, but YMMV. I would rather watch the modern episodes of The Simpsons then watch Movie 43. Yes, it's that bad.

@Star Listen to me. I NEED to see this movie. I NEED to. Hence the word NEED. I have to see it. If I don't, it will be on my mind. And, it'll be the last bad movie I'll see it a while. Another reason I need to see this movie is because I know the movie hits a new low. I know it. But, if I watch it, the movies I'll see later, whether or not they'll be mediocre or terrible, I can at least say it's not as bad as Movie 43. I need to watch it to have SOME level of concern of movies. Trust me.
Also, at least I laughed at SOME parts of Bio-Dome and so far, the worst movie I have ever seen is 40 Days and 40 Nights.

https://youtu.be/_1F5HhUvFbM?si=csgwerqELcG6615q@CD I will tell you my experience. I will watch it with a trash can beside me.
https://youtu.be/_1F5HhUvFbM?si=csgwerqELcG6615qFor me movies tend to be on a scale of good, So Bad, It's Good, average, bland, and why am I wasting my time.
I'll at least explain the gist of the film, for anyone who's curious but doesn't want to watch it. It's a Sketch Comedy film that has none of the charm that genre tends to have, and most of the jokes are unfunny vulgar pieces of garbage {The only one that made me laugh was "Machine Kids", if only for the weirdness of it and it being far less gross then everything else in the film}. To give an idea of what this film's level of "Comedy" is like {Don't read if your easily disgusted}: The very first attempt at comedy in this movie a sketch where Hugh Jackman plays a man with balls on his neck, and yes I'm not making that up.
And the worst part about it? Most of the actors were actually FORCED into doing it. And the film is so bad that even the South Park guys wanted nothing to do with it. Make of that what you will.
@Teeth I'll be ok.
You hear that, you guys. I know I'm not going to get out of this in one piece, I don't think I'm going to get out of it alive. But, don't worry. I think I'll be ok.

Yeah, that's a pretty apt comparison.
And yeah, the round robin fanfic was pretty much engineered knowing it was going to go off the rails pretty quickly. If we wanted to be consistent, we'd let the authors read more than just the chapter before their own.
