A thread to discuss My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic and the tie-in media.

All of the usual forum rules apply. In addition, please remember that the thread is discussing a kids' show, and it's primarily focused on the work itself, not the fanfic — in particular, we don't want to see lewdness creeping in.

Maybe it's a country dissonance, but my city is still tripping over stores selling PSP games.

I'm fine with the sockpuppets as long as they don't completely derail things. I enjoy the conversation here, and a few of them actually contribute in a pretty fun way.

Meh. Splitting the thread is stupid. Why not also split the thread every time an off-topic thing happens that they don't like? For example, I don't like complaining about studies. Do I bitch how that should be in its own thread "Bronies complain about studies"?

The sockpuppets can be fun, but it gets a little overwhelming when we have more than two going at the same time. Plus the sockpuppet thread might start out fun and then just end up dying in a few weeks.

A thread for spoilers I can understand, but devoting three threads to our nonsense is a bit much.

Besides we already have a separate thread for spoilers.

Spoilers are actually a reasonable thing to have a separate thread for.

I suppose, but it's still really annoying.

A Zecora puppet could be fun. We could trick her into talking about oranges.

Contrary to popular belief, "sporange" is a real word. And before you get other ideas, so is "curple" (one related to horses too) and "chilver".

The sockpuppet I'm most proud of is Zazie Rainyday from Mahou Sensei Negima (but WOW was that hard).

EDIT: Star Swirl is fun to break out. Admittedly, I mostly started that as an exercise and a touch of Shameless Self-Promotion, but it's still fun.

@Danny it's not really directly at you. It's my annoyance with internet in general. You can do that, I'll just wait it out or something if it happens.

"Bronies complain about studies" doesn't happen for multiple pages on a daily basis.

I suggest that if someone see one sockpuppet going in a conversation, then try not to jump in with another until that one has left.

Not a strictly enforced rule, just a suggestion. I don't want to dictate to people on how to have fun.

"Bronies complain about studies" doesn't happen for multiple pages on a daily basis.

Not to offend Danny, but it does. And I kinda respect that, venting is nessesary to endure stress for many. Plenty of other things I don't like happen too. Like off-topic conversations about things I've never heard of. Let's make a separate thread of "Bronies talk about stuff Luminosity never heard of".

The thread actually died a long time ago, probably even before it got nuked. The only time anything MLP related comes up in more than a passing mention is on an episode day, and even then only for maybe an hour or two. And I blame splitting the thread for that. We have the spoiler thread, so we can't talk about any news or upcoming stuff. We have the fanfiction thread, so we we can't talk about any of those. We have the comic thread, so forget digging into those. We've already completely talked out every issue from previous episodes. All we have left is sockpuppets, picdumps, and off-topic.

So I finally got around to watching Adventure Time and saw the first two episodes. It was kind of funny but I'm not a fan of LSP. Also, the screen cut to black instead of showing how they got Finn to sit on the ball. Not sure if that was intentional or not.

Changing the subject, I've been talking to Apple on DA about an interesting theory he has. The rainbow thread Coco gave to Rarity and the badge Spitfire gave to RD are only keys because the mane six have made them keys with the choices they've made. That's what the rainbow shines are: the items becoming "magically potent" by the significance they have gained.

I like this theory and think it makes a lot of sense.

Just saw a "rainbow power" commercial, and, like I thought, it has something to do with this season of episodes. And, as predicted, it looks crappy.

[up][up][up] That's what I figured was going on too. The thread could have possibly been intentional by Coco after performing a secret test of character, but Spitfire's a recurring character and I think it's pretty safe to assume she's not pulling any shenanigans like that.

Weeks? I give it days.

That's what the rainbow shines are: the items becoming "magically potent" by the significance they have gained.

One other odd similarity is that they both have a different rainbow shiny item that gave them the realization (the rope for Rarity, the flag for RD)
