A thread to discuss My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic and the tie-in media.
All of the usual forum rules
apply. In addition, please remember that the thread is discussing a kids' show, and it's primarily focused on the work itself, not the fanfic — in particular, we don't want to see lewdness creeping in.

@Ed: You should use bleach.
@CDRW: It's less the moral aspect (interesting as it is), and more why everyone assumed it would go wrong despite it being equally likely that she'd be far more careful this time around.
And I'd love to stick around and discuss it, but I need to get to sleep.

Reaction Image RepositoryWell, given the other option was gather them up and get them away from the farm by any means necessary, and you have Fluttershy trying to act like they should stay no matter what because.. ummm.. ummm.. because she secretly wants Applejack to go out of business and loss her farm, and force Ponyville to have a food shortage I guess. It was the only way to let them stay, without causing ponies to starve, and AJ's whole family to lose their entire livelihood.

You see some when Pinkie is doing the drill hair thing.

@ JT: Yeah, that's kind of weird that everybody assumed it would go wrong. It doesn't help that the show really only makes a big deal out of her spells when they do go wrong, but we've still seen plenty of circumstances where they went off without a hitch.
Ooh, now I want to see an episode that shows Twilight dealing with a spell Gone Horribly Right.
Semi-related: Season 4 in a nutshell
.
This is getting too weird for me. I'm going to bed. Goodnight, everypony!

https://youtu.be/_1F5HhUvFbM?si=csgwerqELcG6615qWell this time the spell worked perfectly, the Flutterbat thing wasn't a result of the spell itself, but an interaction between the spell and The Stare. And still no explanation on why the bats went back to eating apples.
Or the fact that apple orchards aren't grown from seeds, but clippings. And the farm already HAS as many trees as it could handle panted, so can't support more without the trees fighting each other and all being weaker.

Someone needs to fix the Recap page for this episode on the Broken Aesop example. It's just a redirect, doesn't even explain how it is one and the thing it redirects to doesn't say anything about it.
But yeah, seriously, going to bed now xD I'll watch the other three episodes tomorrow.

I wouldn't say it's equally likely, but this is all completely subjective so there's not mcuh point arguing it.
Blind Final Fantasy 6 Let's PlayThe real reason people automatically assumed Twilight's spell would go horribly wrong somehow? There was still half an episode left.
