A thread to discuss My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic and the tie-in media.
All of the usual forum rules
apply. In addition, please remember that the thread is discussing a kids' show, and it's primarily focused on the work itself, not the fanfic — in particular, we don't want to see lewdness creeping in.

Is it ok if the fanfic is a work in progress?
If so, here's my fanfic
.

Blind Final Fantasy 6 Let's PlaySaid Magic boom had nothing to so with flying really, that was all magic, all she did was get in the air.
Secondly, if she is competing for Ponyville, it would make more sense for her to compete in one of the Unicorn based events. Since that would be a guaranteed win for Ponyville. rather then one of the flying based ones where she's hardly above average.
Well you could read the part I've written so far if you want.
By the way, have you read Worm yet? That's a complete story and I'd recommend it. It's not a fanfic though.

Honestly, I don't think she's that bad. Not an ideal role model, obviously, but the worst thing she did was lie to RD about how bad Soarin's injury was. Other than that she never really did anything worse than point out that RD's team isn't doing very well, which is a perfectly accurate assessment. She's not perfect by a long shot, but other main cast members have done equally selfish things and none of them get labeled as shitty people.

Reaction Image RepositorySpitfire isn't really that bad of a leader for what she did. It was kind of a dick move, but it wasn't bad. She was trying to get a better flyer for her team (she just chose a less than honorable way to do it).
http://h0useb0und.tumblr.com/Actually, the worst thing she did was bench an able teammate with lies to recruit someone who's better. That's the kind of thing that would mutilate a team's trust in their leader. I'm actually disappointed in Soarin for not getting even a tiny bit upset about that.
Edit: Not to mention the fact that none of them felt like they should visit their teammate in the hospital.

Well, that's sports. I mean, if an actual olympic team had a member who got an injury, even minor, that could have kept them from being their best, and there was another person available who would be a better option, they'd shuffle the roster. That's just how it works.
Hell, they'd do it even if they weren't injured. Because that's sports. It's a competition. They were presented really poorly, but when it comes down to that they didn't do anything all that bad.
Plus, the fact that it's a competition kinda makes it difficult to judge her entire personality and leadership. Like, she seemed a lot different when she was just chilling casually. Competition makes ponies do weird things. It's made Dash and AJ do a lot worse, after all. She may have been dishonest, but Spitfire didn't outright cheat.
Birthright: an original web novel about Dragons, the Burdens of Leadership, and Mangoes.Update, Twilight may be cheating on Dash. https://derpibooru.org/356429
And this wasn't an official Wonderbolts thing, this was them doing it on their own. They weren't there as Wonderbolts, but simply as ponies from Cloudsdale. Yeah they aren't perfect, but it's not like they were pulling anything really bad. She likely saw this as a chance to get a bit of early recruitment in for a pony that, lets face it, is pretty much guaranteed a slot in the Wonderbolts at some point.
And as other have pointed out, just because he was able to fly, doesn't mean he's at 100% or won't hurt himself if he strains. Given there was another option, why risk a bigger injury to a Wonderbolt, over something that isn't even related TO them directly? This isn't their main job, this is just a side thing, why take the risk if they don't have to?
Yeah Fleetfoot came off as way to sleazy at times, Spitfire, not really. Nor, other then lying, or at least exaggerating, the extent of Soarin's injury, she didn't really do anything wrong. Trying to recruit a player that gives your team the bes chance of winning is pretty much a given for something a good leader should try and do.
It's not shuffling the roster that's the issue, it's the methods she used to do it. Recruiting someone else is something that can and should be done above-board, and the fact that she did it behind the back of the injured teammate and outright lied to the potential new teammate completely destroys her credibility as a leader. How can you trust someone like that to not throw you to the wolves the next time a minor injury crops up? Throwing away that trust is every bit as bad as cheating. Some could argue it's even worse. When you cheat, you're screwing over other people, not the ones you live and work with.

What's wrong with my suggestions?
Blind Final Fantasy 6 Let's Play

@Ike I think it may have to do with the fact that Twilight's now a princess and that duty kind of restricts from participating but even without her princess status I doubt she'd want to participate because ya know she ain't the type to do so.
