A thread to discuss My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic and the tie-in media.
All of the usual forum rules
apply. In addition, please remember that the thread is discussing a kids' show, and it's primarily focused on the work itself, not the fanfic — in particular, we don't want to see lewdness creeping in.

@Ed: They get shorter as the series goes on. I dunno, Magical girl transformations always seem long to me.
Also, in one episode they make fun of it by them transforming in an incredibly fucking lazy way, and it's pretty funny.
Birthright: an original web novel about Dragons, the Burdens of Leadership, and Mangoes. It was probably an early episode, but STILL. It's probably to save a bit on animation since you can repeat stuff, but c'mon.

my childhood of growing up on Sailor Moon and Power Rangers must have given me a high tolerance to drawn-out transformation sequences.
@kegi: i remember that episode. the girls had been going for days without proper rest, so they were completely burnt out there.

All things are lawful for me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but all things edify not.I don't know about AJ specifically, but I'd say it's the best of the season so far. It definitely makes up for AFR.
Blind Final Fantasy 6 Let's PlayAssuming that's referring to Pinkie Apple Pie, I actually did notice one interesting thing about it: It's a different moral for Applejack. Like, it's still vaguely along the lines she usually has - a sort of National Lampoon, 'everything must be perfect' sort of deal - but for the most part nothing in the episode had to do with her pushing too hard. The mora, in short, was not "you don't have to do everything yourself".
Birthright: an original web novel about Dragons, the Burdens of Leadership, and Mangoes.@crimson: Fair enough. It just kind of drained my will to actually keep watching it.
Visit my Tumblr! I may say things. The Bureau ProjectAfter one or two episodes of it, I was like "Yeah, I'm done."
i do love how high-energy the transformations are, though.
...
Blasphemy! Though really, I'm not sure how you could like Apple Reunion at all, let alone more than this.
Which one is that?
Blind Final Fantasy 6 Let's PlayWell, I dunno the exact title of it, but as far as I remember the cruz of the episode was that they had had a string of really easy victories and had gotten complacent about it. I may be wrong though. I am probably wrong.
Anyways, it's this:

Birthright: an original web novel about Dragons, the Burdens of Leadership, and Mangoes.... the professor's son apparently looks like an Astro Boy ripoff.
Seriously.

http://h0useb0und.tumblr.com/IMO, that's the worst you can say about an episode. Stuff like MMDW is at least funny in a Refuge in Audacity way. AFR just had nothing. An inciredibly half-hearted conflict, few jokes, and nothing that stands out. The only reason it had any tension at all is that you're wondering whether AJ's parents will finally appear or not.
Blind Final Fantasy 6 Let's PlayKyler, check your arrows.
edit- FUCKING NINJAS.

http://h0useb0und.tumblr.com/It's not that he doesn't like it, it's the wording.
@story. ...how is wondering about AJ's parents tension at all? For the other stuff, that's why I liked it. It wasn't over the top or overtly cartoony and was just pleasant and nice together as a whole.

Pretty sure that post #38152 should probably go up on the tumblr.
