@Star Same. I guess it's better to listen to people you've liked in the past.

deltron's really passed his time, but Deltron 3030 was a classic album and still puts out some good songs from time to time. Event II wasn't as good as I'd hoped, but was stil pretty good though not as much as the original.

I almost never listen to rap. I have some of Nas and some Notorious BIG, but that's about all that comes to mind. I'm more into rock and prog metal.

I listen to some comedic rappers like Jon Lajoie and The Lonely Island, but that's about it when it comes to me and rap music.

@Teeth When I was a big rap fan, I wasn't really listening into Biggie, it was 2pac for me. Right now, it's mostly been heavy metal, like Alice In Chains.

Prog is awesome, though in my experience I've found it hard to separate the good from the pretentious. Rush and Ayreon are my favorites. Rhapsody of Fire has potential, but the english is so butchered that it ruins the awesome premise and instrumental sections.

Ayreon is basically Large Ham in music form, especially the earlier albums. And yeah, Rush is amazing. I also like Dream Theater (especially Images and Words, Awake, and Scenes from a Memory). Yes is pretty good, too, at least before they went off the deep end. The Yes Album, Fragile, and Close to the Edge are all pretty good, though.

Haven't listened to much of Rhapsody.

@Teeth I know, right? I have Dirt, their Unplugged album, Black Gives Way To Blue and Devil Put Dinosaurs Here.

@Dark I know a couple of songs from Rush. Does Mars Volta count as Prog?

It's mostly video game music these days, but I have been listening to Queen, Rush, Vertical Horizon, Metallica, a few MLP musicians, and a bit of death metal.

I'd put them in with experimental rock, some of their stuff is really out there.

Into the electric Castle to me is still one of the best metal albums ever made in my opinion. The concept, the fusion of space rock, psychedelic, folk, and awesome jamming and so, so much ham and cheese you could make 5 pans full of grilled cheese, and it all just flows so well together.

@Marcen I actually listened to Skrillex through Elders react though it was technically the music video they were reacting to but it still counts as listening to Skrillex.

The thing with Skrillex was that he was many people's first dubstep artist, even though much of his material only has a little dub in it at all. So there's a lot of fan dumb going on when people consider a lot of his work dubstep, when they haven't heard much else in the genre. This leads a lot of hype and the inevitable comparisons to Skrillex even if they sound nothing alike aside from sharing some wubs.

I prefer dubstep that actually sounds like dub.

@Marcen Meh the only good thing to come out of Skrillex was the music played in Hero's Duty in Wreck-It-Ralph. I actually got into Elders react by having a friend at college show me a bit of it.

That would be interesting. I'm sure it exists, though never came across it. In terms of commercial dubstep, datsik is really good, though harsh on the spectrum his stuff's got a fair bit of texture.

Oh, hiya Big dan! Sorry your not feelingyour best.

Hey guys. Checking in again.

Star, Nes, and probably others, I can relate to the lack of friends thing from a few pages ago. I had a few friends in school, but lost them all over time. First when I left high school, then when I finished running start, then when I graduated with my BA... We tried keeping in touch but after a while they stopped responding to my emails. So I stopped sending them.

As for the music discussion, I like a little of everything. ACDC, Rolling Stones, Eminem, Skillet, Hollywood Undead, Lady Gaga, Shael Riley... Etc.

Hi!

It might be a while before I get to watch the next episodes in my catchup. My first test is in five days and I should be focusing on that, unfortunately.

@Danny: It's understandable. I've been sluggin' it out against homework for three hours straight.

@Music: I'm probably going to sound odd, but I kinda don't listen to much music, aside from videogame music, classical music (Like Beethoven), and country music.

@Ike: Well, more people have gone through that than I have thought it seems.
