A thread to discuss My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic and the tie-in media.

@Nom: Honestly, other than the kerfuffle over the steering wheel, none of the fights were all that bad, and even that one they managed to resolve fairly quickly. The other thing is that it's entirely understandable that she wouldn't want to step in until she was sure she was actually part of the family.
@Mio: Given that they were so concerned with trying to make a good impression, I can't imagine why they would want to drag her into it when that would be entirely counterproductive. Not to mention that unlike the family themselves, Pinkie never actually made the situation worse; she just stood by and let things happen. It wasn't like in, say, "Swarm of the Century" where she could have solved all the problems easily and just didn't.
Reaction Image RepositoryI wonder if the cameras they use in Equestria use silver film or are Discworld-type iconographs. Or perhaps they're powered by tiny magic mirrors that can "print" what images they capture onto paper.
The three finest things in life are to splat your enemies, drive them from their turf, and hear their lamentations as their rank falls!I could see it for other members of the mane cast, but I doubt she'd be excited about being related to somepony she doesn't already know. It's the fact that AJ is one of her friends that does it; she'd probably have had the same reaction to being related to Rarity or Twilight.
Reaction Image Repository@Ogodei: just for the record, is your avatar Zoro from One Piece with sunglasses and a mustache?
All things are lawful for me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but all things edify not.Man, why is the HD Youtube upload taking so long? I could have sworn the last one was up much earlier.
Blind Final Fantasy 6 Let's PlayIt's Apple Pie day! Is it odd that the prospect of an episode revolving around my 2 least favorite ponies has me legitimately excited?
I got accosted by Girl Scouts as I was leaving work, so I have some cookies to eat while I watch. Here goes.
...here goes as soon as I can find the episode...

Fight. Struggle. Endure. Suffer. LIVE.If you've got to get accosted by someone, Girl Scouts selling cookies is basically your best option.
Reaction Image RepositoryMaybe Tumblr worthy with a screen cap of the filly scouts in SAYS?
Just saw the episode. It was good. The comedic timing was well done, Pinkie though slightly over the top by her standards, I enjoyed her much more as her quirks weren't just randomness, but followed a skewed logic, as any good comic relief should be. I feel she's easy to get lazy with and just have her spout nonsense, but it's when the jokes make a kind of warped sense and you can see how she got to that conclusion that makes it all the funnier. the gags in which she took pictures at the most inopertune times is a perfect example. For her there wasn't any danger, just a really nice spot for a photo.

Pretty great episode. Surprisingly, it wasn't really a Pinkie episode, the focus was squarely set on the Apple family, which is fine by me. Pinkie works best as a supporting character anyway.
Was it just me or was this episode a lot funnier than most? It had a ton of great gags. Also, much better pacing.

@J Teeth: Really? I thought she was about as oblivious as she normally is. In these kind of situations, while obviously meant to be comedic it comes across as borderline callous. In fact despite their aims to not be a "bad family" in her presence, I'm surprised that none of them lashed out at her for not really doing much of anything to help the situation.
