A thread to discuss My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic and the tie-in media.
All of the usual forum rules
apply. In addition, please remember that the thread is discussing a kids' show, and it's primarily focused on the work itself, not the fanfic — in particular, we don't want to see lewdness creeping in.

I doubt they turn out to be related. My guess is the moral is "Family is about more than blood".
Birthright: an original web novel about Dragons, the Burdens of Leadership, and Mangoes.Yeah, I'm guessing either that, or they are related but it's so distant that it's completely irrelevant.
Reaction Image RepositoryIt would have to be; I'm pretty sure that genetic tests only really work for close relatives. Once you get past second cousins, two relatives only really have as much in common as two random people from the same ethnic background. I think. We'd need Sereg to say for sure, given that he's studied genetics.
Reaction Image RepositoryThat reminds me. How is the Round Robin fanfic going? Who's turn is it?
Blind Final Fantasy 6 Let's Play![]()
I have no idea.
Also, it would be interesting to compare how much attention Coco's gotten vs. how much Octavia originally had, but I don't know how we'd do that.
Reaction Image RepositoryWell, the closer they are, the easier it would be to see.
But it's quite possible to get a fair idea for very distant relatives.
This kind of thing is usually checked with microsattelites.
And that's been used for constructing a worldwide family tree.
EDIT: Well SN Ps are used too, just not as much.
Good to get back to using my studies.
As for Coco, I love Coco. I want her to become Rarity's permanent assistant.
Today, someone suggested to me an idea I like that she does and then feels threatened by Spike's affection for Rarity and decides that she has to prove herself.
I think that could be good.
ANOTHER EDIT:
I have no idea who's turn it is for the fanfic. Eager to see the result.

That's an interesting idea, although I'd kinda prefer the roles reverse, what with Spike feeling threatened by Coco. Spike's big thing is that he wants to feel useful, and giving Rarity a completely competent assistant basically robs him of his main excuse for spending time with her. It would also be an interesting Why Can't I Hate You? moment, considering how nice Coco is.
Reaction Image RepositoryI went to go see Frozen, it was pretty good. Currently listening to Let It Go on You Tube right now.

"Transform and Roll out!" Optimus PrimeWell, in any case, I suppose I can provide for anypony's equine needs with a small dump o' pics. Doggone it, I think you guys may want to try for the writing team... you're providing some decent plotlines in my books.
- Little Fluttershy, wish to go to the Zoo?
- Celestia as Summer.
- Rainbow Dash, easy now! (Season 4 spoilerish I think. Probably minor.)
- Sweetie and Rarity bein' cute together.
- Dashie, you're beggin' to get belly rubbed.
- If only my hometown was like Canterlot... They say my town's the town of the future? My town's the town of nothing!
- Suri! Stop that! (Season 4 spoilers!)
- Lyra an' Bonbon.
- Ms. Pommel. (Season 4 spoilers)
- Lyra in clothes and tryin' to be bipedal.
- Shining Armor and Twilight.
- Simple Sparity moment.
- Braeburn, please...
- BonBonds
- Pinkie's "Too much smile" face is how I imagine those who constantly are optimistic. Pinkie, moderation is key.
- Tank just got an awesome upgrade.
- ...and Fluttershy to wrap up the batch.
You're better than me. I wasn't able to guess Hans being evil at all. I figured he wouldn't be the real love interest, but I thought that he'd get taken out of the picture some other way. I also assumed that it would be Kristoff's love that would save her. I did notice that their definition of love applied to Anna too, but I didn't think they'd actually do that.
Blind Final Fantasy 6 Let's PlayThe love bit I was slightly uncertain about, but I had it as an option given how openly loving they are, and Anna trying to rekindle Elsa's feelings throughout. Hans was easy, rarely in a Disney movie will a love confession be insincere and not be part of a plot of a villain, and be a genuine mistake. Working off that basic Disney trope, the fact that he was just sort of nodding and agreeing about loving Anna during the song and letting her play along, and the fact that he seemed a bit too comfortable as the nation's leader, it all fell into place pretty quickly.

Pinkie and AJ being distantly related may have some basis :V They might be in-laws by relative marriage.
Pinkie's cousin marrying one of AJ's awesome nephews or something.

The three finest things in life are to splat your enemies, drive them from their turf, and hear their lamentations as their rank falls!
