A thread to discuss My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic and the tie-in media.
All of the usual forum rules
apply. In addition, please remember that the thread is discussing a kids' show, and it's primarily focused on the work itself, not the fanfic — in particular, we don't want to see lewdness creeping in.

Well it's been a loooong time coming but I think my gaming group is falling apart. Seen it coming but... man, I don't really have anything to look forward to without an rpg to play.
I've basically been gaming for about 15 years straight, it just feels wrong to not have one going.

What a coincidence - the same thing has happened to me twice before the campaign was ever written!
Granted, I haven't been doing any actual tabletop gaming, but I know the basics.

Long live Cinematech. FC:0259-0435-4987@ Blue: Unfortunate, but it happens. You could find another gaming group, or maybe even start one of your own.
I put my friend in a coconut! He lives in my hat! Hey, come hang out!@Blue: That's a bummer, man. :(
Have you considered checking out the RP section here? I mean, you're probably not going to find anything as involved as a DnD game here, but you might find something to tide you over until you find something more substantial IRL.
^^^ I'd assume chocolate rain is a given.

It is my own. I've been the GM for pretty much ever. I've only played as a player in like 3 campaigns ever, only one of which went on for more than like 3 sessions. My brother was all set to take over as GM in a few weeks and I was really looking forward to playing but we just can't get together. Everyone is too busy being an adult, sigh.
I was thinking of looking for a gaming group but I don't have much hope on that for a variety of reasons. I really want to play with my friends, not strangers.
I'm just venting for now. I've been playing via skype for the past year, so if I find another group I'd REALLY like it to be local. I miss playing face to face. Of course none of my current friends live in the same city as me so that would make it a bunch of strangers by default. Considering I'm not the best at making friends I don't really have much interest in trying that.
I've probably written character sheets/bios for at least three dozen characters I was prepared to play, only for the campaign to collapse before it ever began. I'm pretty used to that by now. It's just the prospect of not playing at all that gets me.

Fight. Struggle. Endure. Suffer. LIVE.That sucks. I know what it's like to not be able to get together with friends.
Reaction Image Repository@ Pinkie: Not even some chocolate rain, or cotton candy clouds?
I put my friend in a coconut! He lives in my hat! Hey, come hang out!Well, if you do decide to start up a new group through skype or some other online connectivity, I'd be interested. I did a bit of table top gaming when I was younger, I've always liked RPGs in general, and I'm a fan of both Order Of The Stick and Goblins Life Through Their Eyes, so I've been itching to try my hand at actual DnD or a similar game for a while.
I was even playing around with creating a lite DnD-esque game for forum play, though admittedly I was more enthusiastic about creating the campaign setting than the game mechanics. :P It was kind of a cross between Zelda and Warcraft in terms of themes and worldbuilding, with everything revolving around the three elemental forces of Power, Cunning, and Spirit, while the races took a lot of their inspiration and direction from World Of Warcraft.
I dunno Star, I'm pretty sure that Discord could force you to talk to him if he really wanted.

keep me in mind if anything happens, would you? tabeltop gaming is something I've always really wanted to get into, but never really had a good opportunity for. I've played in a few sessions, but never a full campaign before.

XP granted for befriending a giant magical spider!@Wrtye: I may very well take you up on that (I've had numerous people on tv tropes say they're interested, so I definitely could put together a group). It's just that right now I feel really sick of the whole skype-play and of gming in general. Though that's probably a temporary thing that will pass.
I actually don't mind skype play at all, except that my players tend to get WAY too distracted when we play that way since they're all playing Minecraft or something at the same time. Which is extremely rude but whatever, I'm not gonna try and tell my friends how to have fun.
Haha, there's another.
Noobs are alright.

Fight. Struggle. Endure. Suffer. LIVE.There's nothing wrong with being a noob. We all were once. Heck, I still kind of am. I'm more experienced with reading the books than playing the games, but I'd love an opportunity to play.
http://h0useb0und.tumblr.com/@Blue: I'd honestly be up for it as well if not for the fact that I'm stupidly busy as is. I'd be an extremely unreliable player.
Reaction Image RepositoryI'd give it a try but in my experience, online tabletop rpgs don't work well.
Blind Final Fantasy 6 Let's PlayNot with that attitude they don't.
But yeah, the two times I've tried to play a game online it fell apart rather quickly. Still, I'd be willing to give it another shot.
On an unrelated note, cornbread muffins are yummy.

Evening everyone. What's up?
Oh crap, pagetopper. I'd better post something. Uh. Here's Rainbow Dash as a batpony.
