A thread to discuss My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic and the tie-in media.

Thank you. grin

I just think this show is genuinely funny. It's like, the old adventure shows I watched as kid. It's fun!

I like it because it totally IS different from the MLP we use to put up with. (My first contact with any MLP product was back in G3. I really didn't ppay it no mind, so way back then, you could say I could have already have become brony.)

Eh, nobody like rutabagas anyway. We can use them to lure the onion cannibals into our devious stew trap.

Your complimentary insanity plaque is in the mail by the way. Should be there in about a week.

Look before you sleep. Haven't gotten around to watching it yet. I want to average three a day now to get up to speed. Then I cam watch the new season!

Just got home from Frozen. Damn, that was awesome. My only complaints in the entire movie are that the last song was a little goofy for the point in the movie it came up, and the comic relief character was a little too over the top. If they'd just dialed back the cartoonishness of his design and the goofiness of his voice, he'd have been fine, because he was actually funny despite disrupting the atmosphere of the film.

But seriously, dayum.

When the Cannibal Onions get through with the carrots

They'll have to fight those Manehattan birds for them.

My first contact with any MLP product was back in G3

Same here, but in my case, that was because I wanted ot check out the cool Fi M thing I heard about, but accidently ran into G3 online and didn't know enough at the time to tell the difference. Good thing I decided to give it a second try later.

I actually felt that Olaf was one of the most tolerable comic relief characters in a really long time.

Olaf was actually funny, I'll grant him that. It's just his design and voice that sat wrong with me.

He had a point and relevance. And I think last time a comic relief had that was Timon and Pumbaa in first Lion King.

Again, I'll grant him that. I honestly can't say that the movie would be better without him. I just wished they'd dialed back a notch or two on his... "hey look, I'm the zaney character!" quotient.

I do agree. I mean he was funny, but he felt like a walking 'Hi I'm the Comic Relief' sign instead of a character.

Olaf was pretty endearing, which probably surprised everyone who watched it.

In some Frozen pony fanart, Elsa is Rarity and Anna is Sweetie Belle. Works really well actually.

Good luck, Ike.

Is anyone here living in the part of the country that's getting hammered by that winter storm?
I escaped from there just in time. Well, it sounds like the place I left, Nebraska, just got some ridiculously cold rather than any snow. Oddly enough, Oklahoma City was getting some snow as I drove away from there, this morning.

Speaking of which, hey everyone, I’m in San Antonio now.

Did you move there, or are you just visiting, Meta?

When I checked a while ago, it was raining and 36 degrees Fahrenheit. It's now a "*bleep* you, snow" 47 F. Thank you, weather ponies. smile
