A thread to discuss My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic and the tie-in media.

All of the usual forum rules apply. In addition, please remember that the thread is discussing a kids' show, and it's primarily focused on the work itself, not the fanfic — in particular, we don't want to see lewdness creeping in.

I don't know WHAT the Hell happened (I blame shenanigans) but we're going to start from scratch. Post your feels for this awesome show again! Naow!

I took it and it put me in Springfield. I'm not even American so I have no idea of the implications.

[up]Did it specify which Springfield? 'Cause if not, I have no choice but to imagine you're from The Simpsons.

lol I'm going to assume it means the real one. Seems to be a relatively safe assumption.

P.S. And the one somewhere very northeast on the map.

I've heard of lightning bug, but never used in a real life conversation.

The joke is that there are several real ones. Pretty sure that at least half the states have a Springfield. tongue

The dialect map actually guessed correctly that I'm in MA. The deciding factor seems to be that I call a traffic circle a rotary.

And yeah, my grandma and my aunt called them lightning bugs.

And I'm beginning to include horror elements in my stories... huh. What an incredible coincidence XD

I had no idea how to respond on that one. I've never seen intersections set up that way, and I'm still having a hard time visualizing it.

I've never heard ANYONE call fireflies anything else.

I've heard them referred to has lightning bugs before, but fireflies seems to be the dominant term everywhere. No idea why they're convinced it's specific to a few towns in California.

I've seen pictures of them and read about them. I've never seen one in real life though.

The thing that really confused me was the Liquor Drive Through. That's a thing? There's slang words for it?

There was a question about liquor drive-thrus? That one never came up for me.

...Holy crap, I think that's the fastest we've seen anyone go from volunteering to a finished chapter. What was that, like an hour? Two hours? That's awesome. cool

I never got the liquor drive through question either. Just as well, since my answer would have been "What".

So, I'm done with my chapter.

Wow, that was fast. You never broke stride posting here, either.

It's weird that they didn't ask me that, since there actually are liquor drive-thru's around here. There's one just a couple blocks down from here, called the Eskimo Hut. We don't have a special term for them, though.

Took the quiz. Put me in the Seattle/Tacoma/Portland area. Which is exactly where I've spent my entire life, so yeah.
