A thread to discuss My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic and the tie-in media.

Watching the episode now.
Looks like we're in for a Spike episode. Can understand him having an inferiority complex, given he lacks an elements and everything.
Also, looks like the castle is going to be a recurring thing.
EDIT: Oh wow, the animation of Spike being sucked into the comic has some hilarious animation.
EDIT: None of these ponies know how to shot web.

I see How Do I Shot Web? as a more realistic outcome in this context. The ponies weren't used to their new-found powers and the season 4 premier makes it clear that Instant Expert does not apply.
yeah but the mane 6 had an element of harmony in the past (read: seasons 1-3), Spike didn't even have that (and the one time he did it was someone Else's)

Oh, I'm not saying it was illogical. It makes perfect sense for them to not know how to use their powers.
Also, that episode was hilarious. Flutterhulk was great. My only real complaint is that the whole "getting sucked into a comic book" thing was kind of like an Excuse Plot that sort of came out of nowhere. But I actually liked how it handled Spike's development. It adds a really interesting dimension to his character; he judges his self-worth by how helpful he can be. He needs to feel needed.
Also, the Mane-iac was hilarious.
I really wish we would've gotten more time to see the cast use their powers (especially Rarity, who is best super hero), but that's not a big deal.

Reaction Image RepositoryThey weren't kidding about her being insane. She's just evil AND insane.
Blind Final Fantasy 6 Let's PlayYeah, the fact that she's laughing literally all the time(and thinks giving everyone a lot of hair constitutes doomsday?) kinda reveals she's leaning a little heavily on the crazy side of mad genius... she's either delusional or physically compelled to laugh.
Which would be kind of interesting. Like, she's not actually evil, she's just been laughing for so long that she's basically pissed off all the time.
Birthright: an original web novel about Dragons, the Burdens of Leadership, and Mangoes.I could see that even in universe if some publishers made a Power Ponies/Daring Do crossover comic.
edit:You can tell Tabitha was going to town with the role and was having fun with it. Considering her evil laugh was practically a verbal tick.
edit edit: Also I liked that Spike got to be mister exposition this time and got an important part as leader.

That would lead to some weird implications since Daring Do is real. Maybe it's a fictionalized version

Are you sure it wasn't 8? Doesn't make much sense to be advertising Windows 7 at this point.
Anyway, that sucks.
I put my friend in a coconut! He lives in my hat! Hey, come hang out!Episode was ok I guess. I'm not really feeling the show lately. Which is weird because quality wise I think it's been improving.
My complaints are the Excuse Plot and Maneiac being an incredibly boring villain. I did laugh at her evil speech though, seeing how it was intentionally written as the most stereotypical meaningless evil villain speech they could think of.
Rarity made this episode.
Fight. Struggle. Endure. Suffer. LIVE.

Though since it could be a one time thing, it's not quite as bad as Draing Don't.
