A thread to discuss My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic and the tie-in media.
All of the usual forum rules
apply. In addition, please remember that the thread is discussing a kids' show, and it's primarily focused on the work itself, not the fanfic — in particular, we don't want to see lewdness creeping in.

Last week's was less gooder in my opinion. This one had a stronger conflict. The new writers are rising to the occasion this season.
Visit my Tumblr! I may say things. The Bureau ProjectJust how many middle names does RD have? I could have sworn she said her middle name was "Danger" before.
Anybody else feel like the thing with the stairs in the montage was a reference to Rocky?
Also, forget carrying the flag, if Scoots can pull two other ponies to another country about as fast as a train, she should compete.
"Hearts as strong as horses" is best pony song.
Also, Ms.Harshwhinny is a bitch.

Dakota's blog An odd agent of justice@Cookoo: I like the ambiguity. Maybe she will, maybe she won't, but whatever the result she's not less able.
Visit my Tumblr! I may say things. The Bureau ProjectI actually kinda like that they handled it that way. Keeps things open in case they ever want to expand.
Reaction Image Repository@JT: Yeah, that's what I figured too. Or performing stunts for a crowd, at the very least.
the last Scootaloo episode was definitely stronger.
Yeah, but the last Scootaloo episode was Sleepless in Ponyville, and that's hardly a fair point of comparison.
Birthright: an original web novel about Dragons, the Burdens of Leadership, and Mangoes.Rainbow Dash was brilliant in this episode. As Japanese Teeth said it was great that they worked in both the first CMC conflict and the Dash/Scoots relationship into one episode.
I wonder why the two arch-brats ignored the fact that Sweetie can't do magic. Then again, no CM no magic (maybe) so it could be redundant.
Harshwhinny was really exaggeratedly expressive this episode. Kind of awesome.

Visit my Tumblr! I may say things. The Bureau Project@meta Or that Ponyville is a melting pot. Then again Canterlot is mostly unicorns and Cloudsdale is 100% pegasi...
sounds like we got got us some Fridge Horror
@Ed: I now imagine street gangs in Manehatten's slums being racially divided.
Nah, it's just they are the old Tribal capitals from shortly before the unification, where the Three Tribes originally set up camp.

The three finest things in life are to splat your enemies, drive them from their turf, and hear their lamentations as their rank falls!@Meta: I wouldn't say that it's that they don't mingle so much as they aren't equally represented. The three major hub cities in the setting we've seen all seem to be dominated by particular races; Cloudsdale is mostly pegasi (by necessity), the Canterlot elite are mostly unicorns, and going by "Cutie Mark Chronicles", Manehattan seems to be mostly earth ponies. While I'm sure there are ponies of other races living in those locations, they aren't as evenly mixed. Ponyville is much more of a melting pot, so they decided to emphasize that.
Either that or the CMC just don't have a good grip on racial demographics and didn't realize that it's true of other places, but the routine itself was good enough anyway. Harmony of the races is an appropriate concept to build their routine around even if it isn't exclusive to Ponyville.
Reaction Image RepositoryWhat I like about this show is that despite most of it being episodic, the writers never leave out continuity in the little details. By this point, Dash is fully rooting for Scootaloo since she knows she idolizes her from before and became her pupil, so she's not only coaching them but paying more attention to them than other fillies. And this continues Scootaloo's ambition to fly.
The Professionalism running joke was pretty dang good.

@Crow: I could see her realizing that her scooter is her talent. This is exactly the type of event that could trigger that realization.
