I just like to think that Ahuizotl's plan did involve making the sun go haywire, partially by wresting some control of it away from Celestia. Celestia likely would have noticed something going on when the ritual was completed, but it would have been too late by that point for her to simply will the sun to not fry the place.

My take is he's basically using solar energy. Not taking control of the sun, but harnessing it's reflected heat and frying the valley.

I agree and plus the ritual would've been hazardous to life in Equestria and pretty much everyone there would be suffering from all that heat if it had been completed.

I'm watching home alone at the moment. All I need to hear now is Fiarytale Of New York and it's definitely Chirstmass!

I've only seen the third one. Which apparently doesn't count and is completely different from the first two.

A Very Minty Christmas. tongue

And yes, Home Alone 3 sucks, same with 2. The first is really the good one.

I liked the 2nd one the best. The filmakers clearly realized that the 20 minutes or so of traps and tricks was the only part of the movie people actually cared about and just made the sequel all about that.

I wonder if I should watch A Christmas Story. I've never actually seen it.

I'll admit that the 2nd Home Alone was basically just a rehash of the first one {Basic 80's/90's sequel movie curse, if you will}, but I still enjoyed it, and it still had new gags that worked, so IMO it's just as good as the first film. That's more then what can be said for other comedy sequels that are the same as the first film.

Also, everyone knows that Die Hard is the best Christmas movie ever.tongue

I still have a soft spot for all those cheap cheesy animated specials from the 70s and 80s. No charm like narm charm, after all.

Celestia showed Twiight clips of things she'd done, including a clip of her imagined return to magic kindergartn from Lesson Zero!

Oh right, the magic dream quest realm. The clips could be coming from Twilight's memories though.

Twilight is a magic pony. and a prodigy, at that. the Imagine Spot could've been subconsciously made visible to people other than her.

@Powah: You have excellent taste in christmas music.

I just finished watching Arthur Christmas myself. And I've been watching The Secret World Of Santa Claus lately(Which probably only the Canadians here will recognize - it was an old french cartoon that got translated and played every christmas, but I don't think we have any france french folks here).

I've been watching christmas movies once or twice a week for three weeks now. Fucking love me some christmas movies.

It's reeeeeally good. Very well animated and written, and has a real solid magic of Christmas thing. Even kinda captures the feeling of having top spend time with family you love without necessarily liking.

I recommend it wholeheartedly, at any rate. Lots of fun.
