A thread to discuss My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic and the tie-in media.
All of the usual forum rules
apply. In addition, please remember that the thread is discussing a kids' show, and it's primarily focused on the work itself, not the fanfic — in particular, we don't want to see lewdness creeping in.

@Star I think he's ok. He can be funny sometimes. His stand up is repetitive at times but he's ok.
https://youtu.be/_1F5HhUvFbM?si=csgwerqELcG6615q@Mio: Yes, so even the segregation shown in the Hearth's Warming Eve time period wasn't necessarily the same as human racial caste systems.
And if there are unicorn supremacy groups, they are probably a very small minority that would get looked down on by most unicorns, and since unicorns AREN'T necessarily the dominant pony type that rules over all the others, if such a thing even existed in Equestria, pegasi and Earth ponies would probably also have their extremists who thought that their type of pony should rule over the others. Thankfully, ponies seem to be much less racist than humans. (at least going by races within their species and even then other similar animals like donkeys seem to be pretty well-accepted)
I understand that most of the people on this particular thread aren't the type of bronies who think that way, but it annoys me when I read things where some pony fans seem to want to impose human racism onto pony society.
@Star Well...yeah, he's kind of a love him/hate him guy. I'm just indifferent.

Are you saying that there is intra-pony racism in the show that I'm ignoring (either sarcastically or sincerely), or are you agreeing with me that it's misrepresenting pony society to assume that they have the same kind of racism humans do?
I looked up a screenshot gallery of the Cutie Mark Chronicles and while I didn't see any unicorn servants (who may simply not have been in any of the screenshots), I did notice that their drinks all have straws in them. Which would be a way for non-unicorns to work around not having hands or telekinesis so that they don't have to necessarily drink by picking up the cup with their teeth. I liked noticing that because that would help me if I ever wrote pony fanfics.

@Rainbw: I think he means the imposing of racism.
Visit my Tumblr! I may say things. The Bureau Project@Ed Today on The Business, the business gets serious. And when the serious business turns serious, it gets so serious that the seriousness of the business goes seriously business meaning that...(throws up in a garbage can)
https://youtu.be/_1F5HhUvFbM?si=csgwerqELcG6615qHm, was hoping to find some more Frozen crossover pony art, but no dice.

Visit my Tumblr! I may say things. The Bureau Project@Starscream: Sorry, I got confused because the way you worded it, I thought you were saying that I was doing something wrong. I thought the "why would ya want to do that?" part was aimed at me, not at the people who were assuming ponies were racist.
On a different topic, we know that Rainbow Dash and Twilight enjoy the Daring Do stories, but what would the others think of the series? I could imagine Rarity liking to read about the jewels and treasures that Daring Do finds, although I have no idea if she has a problem with reading stories about others getting dirty and stuff. Fluttershy would probably focus on the parts that have lots of animals in them, but she might be too easily scared by adventure stories that have lots of danger in them. I can't really imagine Applejack being as interested in reading about adventure, simply because she seems like the type who would rather do it herself instead of just reading about it, but she might surprise us all and become a fan too. Pinkie I have no idea about, I could see reasons for both her liking it and her being completely bored by simply reading a book rather than interacting with other ponies.

@Mio: Kind of like how the Winter-Wrap Up had a tradition of not using unicorn spells because Ponyville was founded by Earth ponies. That makes sense that they might have some older traditions, especially if they live in more segregated communities like Cloudsdale that only pegasi can even live in because other ponies would fall through the clouds.
Well there was the South Park movie.

The three finest things in life are to splat your enemies, drive them from their turf, and hear their lamentations as their rank falls!@Star Groovy! Haven't read any of the comics...though.

There's probably been a lot of intermarriage over the years too.
Sometimes I wonder if there's like Unicorn supremacist or whatever groups. Probably too dark for the show though.
