A thread to discuss My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic and the tie-in media.

All of the usual forum rules apply. In addition, please remember that the thread is discussing a kids' show, and it's primarily focused on the work itself, not the fanfic — in particular, we don't want to see lewdness creeping in.

I don't know WHAT the Hell happened (I blame shenanigans) but we're going to start from scratch. Post your feels for this awesome show again! Naow!

@Marcen Simple because greedy producers reckon kids will eat that shit up because they think it sells like hotcakes and it does. Think about it, merchandise, video games and above all else they just don't give a shit.

@Star It's just amazing! There are kids who want to see the movie, of course, but their parents couldn't just let them watch a better kids movie that doesn't talk down to the kids. It just blows my mind sometimes. Just like when more people went to see The Expendables then Scott Pilgrim. They even chose that over a Julia Roberts movie! AND I don't even like Julia Roberts much...well, she's ok. But people saw a bad action movie, over an awesome movie and a Julia Roberts movie...which I would've understood if that made more money than Scott Pilgrim because that was aimed for the female demographic. If that happened, I would've understood completely. To the point where I would've been like...I'll see Eat Pray Love so I wouldn't have to watch Expendables. I can watch Scott Pilgrim another time. Sorry for rambling, it's just when people watch terrible movies they know are terrible over awesome movies, it just confuses me.

Scott Pilgrim was great. Shame the movie wasn't more successful.

I'd pick The Expendables over anything with awkward hipster Canadian and Julia Roberts any day.

@Story Tell me about, it's probably Edgar Wright's most under appreciated work.

@Star Well, that's saying a lot, considering none of his movies have performed that well outside of England.

@Freeman Well. It's your opinion. None one I share but everyone has a different opinion.

@Story It isn't. It really isn't.

@Story No Story we mean the other The World's End, the one with the guys going to a pub and an alien invasion. But yeah POTC 3 was just horse shit especially with the ending. Man did they fuck things over with that.

I think it went donwhill as soon as they decided to capialize and make it into a franchise. Dead Man's Chest was pretty silly too and they just had to up the ante.
