A thread to discuss My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic and the tie-in media.
All of the usual forum rules
apply. In addition, please remember that the thread is discussing a kids' show, and it's primarily focused on the work itself, not the fanfic — in particular, we don't want to see lewdness creeping in.

As I said, in my setting, dragons hoard as display behavior. The size and value of their hoard proves to other dragons how good they are at getting stuff from and defending it from other dragons and other races. If you have a huge hoard, you've probably had to protect it from lots of adventurers and other dragons and were obviously successful. You were also able to get it in the first place. So, other dragons should treat you with respect.
D&D also invented the concept of "Xorvintaal". It's a dragon gambling game where they bet large arts of their hoard, hoping to win hoards fro other dragons.
Don't seem to. ML dragons appear to be only one breed of highly different morphology and relatively similar powers, unlike D&D dragons which have several breeds, each with individuals that look very similar and which have powers that are very different to one another. I mean, D&D dragons don't even all breathe fire. They can breathe lightning, acid, ice, repulsion gas, exlplosive lozenges, dessication, light, etc.

Post of the Day #1888
To be honest, "What's a good name for a pegasus?" is only very slightly less vague than "What's a good name for a character?" It's hard to name a character you know nothing about. (Unless you're starting with a cool-sounding name and trying to flesh the concept out from that.)
What is this character like? How old are they? What is their cutie mark for, assuming they have one? These are pretty important questions.
This "faculty lot" you speak of sounds like a place of great power...
I'm just coming up with appropriate name for Pegasai. I have three Pegasai characters that need names but I don't want to give them names that are too appropriate. That's why I'm asking if the names in the previous post are good for Pegasai.
One's a compassionate artist, one's a spiteful former matchmaker, and one ran away to Ponyville to try to escape her own impending death.

Trans rights are human rights. TV Tropes is not a place for bigotry, cruelty, or dickishness, no matter who or their position. This is MLP. Names that are too appropriate are pretty much par for the course. Some characters get to have flowery names like Zephyr Breeze or Pinkie Pie, but a lot of characters get stuck with names clearly inspired by their character traits. Even our main characters can't escape that, such as Rainbow Dash, the rainbow pony that goes really fast, Fluttershy, the pegasus who can barely fly and is socially awkward, or Applejack, the lumberjack of apples.
There is literally a character named Spoiled Rich. Married to Filthy Rich.
In this franchise, Meaningful Name is the rule, not the exception.

Yes I'm far too aware of that. I want to try to avoid the whole thing because of my own personal feelings towards the whole "Meaningful Name" trope, especially so early in making the characters.
I don't want to come up with a "Meaningful Name" when I'm just starting with these characters.

Trans rights are human rights. TV Tropes is not a place for bigotry, cruelty, or dickishness, no matter who or their position. To be fair, in many cases their names are fairly appropriate based on their family or appearance. Like, of course Applejack is going to have an apple-based name, like 'Rich' seems to be a family name so why wouldn't they give him a name that play with it? Though he seems to have consciously averted that in naming his daughter.
Ponies do seem to be somewhat literal in their naming conventions, but they're rarely as 'prophetic' as the fandom likes the make them out to be at times.
Birthright: an original web novel about Dragons, the Burdens of Leadership, and Mangoes. So I got home and was immediately ambushed with, "We're watching the first Equestria Girls." So. That's happening. I'll let you know what she thinks.
Incidentally, she has watched this once, but her little sister was here and we wound up playing a card game so she could avoid having to actually pay attention. Also, she was drinking throughout to kill the memory of it. She did not like this movie. But apparently we're watching it, so. That's a thing that's happening.
We might wind up watching it a third time, because she just popped a bottle of wine and might wind up drinking the movie away. Again.

That's what I said after the first few episodes they were in.
Come on! Let's bless them all until we get fershnickered!
