A thread to discuss My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic and the tie-in media.
All of the usual forum rules
apply. In addition, please remember that the thread is discussing a kids' show, and it's primarily focused on the work itself, not the fanfic — in particular, we don't want to see lewdness creeping in.

She helps me write them.
I do the actual writing, but we throw ideas back and forth, talk about how scenes and characterizations should come about, and storyboard the concepts together. She helps me with my ponyfic and I help her with a story she's writing for Smite.
My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub.I thought of another possible reason why Rarity and Applejack tend to get more episodes that focus on their interactions as a pair. They both have sisters who are members of the CMC, and thus some of the CMC's stories also involve Applejack/Rarity interactions. Examples of this would include Sisterhooves Social and Sleepless in Ponyville, especially the former.
See one thing I love about Pony Fanfics is that a lot of the good ones still do things that the show no longer does. You want a story with the Mane 6 all interacting as an ensemble instead of a pair, but the show for some reason refuses to do this anymore? There's plenty of Fanfics that still do that. Same goes with stuff like the more entertaining character interactions in general.
Speaking of fanfiction, I remember that, earlier, there had been discussion of the next Round Robin, and some ideas had been suggested, but I don't think anything was decided yet. Should we try to decide on something soon? Whatever the next story ends up being, I will probably want to participate again.
For reference, the ideas I remember being suggested include:
- Equestria Girls story where the humans switch places with their pony versions (my idea)
- Applejack and Twilight go have an adventure together
- Pinkie Pie does serial dating
- A story told in backwards order
- Characters travel through book worlds (a criticism of this idea was that it might end up causing the chapters to become too disconnected from each other, especially if each chapter took place in a different book world)
- Related to the above, drunken retellings of famous books/stories

Oh right, we never did get around to working on that. I still like the "backward story" idea, where the first person writes the conclusion of the story, the next person writes the events leading up to that, and the next person writes the stuff leading up to that, and so on. Or is that too complicated?
Reaction Image RepositoryRarijack also has more prominence because Tabitha and Ashleigh were both making overt, suggestive jokes about it during the VA panels at the last BronyCon.

FE: New Mystery Only Feet 7PM PT Sun, Mon, Fri; Umamusume Haru Arima 7PM PT Wed, Thurs: http://www.twitch.tv/kuroitsubasatenshiIf the con wasn't PG, I bet they'd end up doing some kind of VAing imitation of something between AJ and Rarity. VAs can get a liiiiittle crazy when they have each other to bounce off of (although, some, like Tara Strong, don't even need anyone else >.>).

My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub.Twilight is a shut-in post-grad, so I think she definitely has potential to swear a decent amount. Though there's the possibility that Twilight comes from a higher-class family in the first place so 'good breeding' might impact that. And having to watch her language around Spike. If she does swear it's probably mostly kept for times when she (thinks she) is alone.
Actually, I can imagine her being like my Dad: Very clearly wants to swear, but holds it in while the kid is around. Then when the kid gets old enough to start swearing it just rooooolls on out.
Birthright: an original web novel about Dragons, the Burdens of Leadership, and Mangoes.Fluttershy is the type to hold back on cussing until she gets downright peeved, and then unload something so vile it shocks everyone. Like so.
Not to mention the time in "Putting Your Hoof Down", when she said that "Nopony gives a flying feather" about parties or fashion.

My take on it:
- AJ: Swears like a sailor when alone or with other adults, but very careful to watch her language around kids (e.g. her sister), resulting in Angrish.
- RD: Was a Sir Swears-a-Lot as a filly since she thought it made her look tougher, but mostly grew out of it and now just swears "casually"
- Rarity: Doesn't really use foul language much, since it isn't proper for a lady. Unless she gets drunk, in which case the filter comes off.
- Twilight: Doesn't swear much either and when she does it's more under her breath to herself rather than an Atomic F-Bomb. Possibly a Precision F-Strike if things are really serious, and even then it would be a calculated use to get everyone to pay attention.
- Pinkie: Never swears, generally sticks to Gosh Darn It to Heck! type of language. Possible exception if she's in Pinkamena mode.
- Fluttershy: Never swears and only uses the fluffiest of euphemisms... until she gets well and truly PO'ed, at which point she has such a foul mouth that it would make Quentin Tarantino blush

I think that's probably a pretty good explanation. The show has been "pairing off" the ponies not in shipping sense, but simply in that stories tend to focus on them one-or-two at a time rather than in larger groups. It's noticeable with Rarity and Applejack in particular because their Tomboy and Girly Girl dynamic makes the combination easy to write for, and ever since "Look Before You Sleep" people have interpreted their interactions as Belligerent Sexual Tension. It doesn't help that it's one of the fandom's most popular pairings, which makes it most likely that people will run with it.
