A thread to discuss My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic and the tie-in media.
All of the usual forum rules
apply. In addition, please remember that the thread is discussing a kids' show, and it's primarily focused on the work itself, not the fanfic — in particular, we don't want to see lewdness creeping in.

Spice Up Your Life, Flutter Brutter, Applejack's Day Off, The Saddle Row Review and Newbie Dash all seem to be episodes with morals unambiguously targeting young adults, with lest applicability to youth life than adult life.
They still do have applicability to younger audiences, but they were all framed in terms of real world problems adults face: marketing and product management, getting a job, workplace efficiency, managing a team under time pressure, and working in a military style team.

Once again, if he put in his notice, and they let him slip out right then, so Dash could have her first show be a small, no stakes event in her hometown to both help her deal with any possible 'I'm flying with the Wonderbolts" nerves, and also help her better deal with any newbie screw ups she makes due to them, it makes perfect sense.
I'm kind of surprised at how many thread regulars there are who aren't watching the show as it airs.

x3 That's not usually how that works in real life. Giving a notice several weeks before you retire is customary, which gives time to train the replacement. But Equestria could be different. They do have different cultural norms than we do
Well, to be fair, the airtime is pretty inconvenient for a lot of people

It is if you work nights and Saturdays are the only day you realistically have to run a week's worth of errands, yes.
Moreso if you have your own creative projects and a tendency to work obsessively. Frankly, the entire concept of 'watching' is a bit inconvenient for me at this point.
Birthright: an original web novel about Dragons, the Burdens of Leadership, and Mangoes.i haven't been keeping up with episodes either. I'll watch them all once they appear on Netflix, but I've been too busy to catch them before Hasbro takes them off of You Tube.
"There's not a girl alive who wouldn't be happy being called cute." ~Tamamo-no-MaeHaven't members of the crew all but confirmed that ratings mean exactly jack in comparison to toy sales anyway?

This song needs more love.
Well they're releasing Legends of Everfree on Netflix first, so they're definitely aware of where their audience is.
I feel compelled to point out that the show is, you know, aimed at kids, so putting it on a Saturday morning does make some sense.
Reaction Image RepositoryThe whole "Saturday morning cartoons" thing is almost like a Dead Horse Trope. I work with kids (elementary and middle school age), and most of them are actually busy during that time (sports, extra-curriculars, etc) Kind of unfortunate, because Saturday morning cartoons are a classic.
And here I remain, the lone human without Netflix
I just use my family's account.

I think the last episode I watched was the one where Maud and Pinkie and Rarity went to Manehattan.
Anyway to put in my own two cents on World War Z I think that the one place the movie was better than the book was is how the zombies moved. There they weren't a shambling horde, they were a freaking tidal wave that was basically unstoppable once it got rolling. That I think would have overwhelmed the US military realistically.
