A thread to discuss My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic and the tie-in media.
All of the usual forum rules
apply. In addition, please remember that the thread is discussing a kids' show, and it's primarily focused on the work itself, not the fanfic — in particular, we don't want to see lewdness creeping in.

@CDRW: Ask them if they'd be alright with you playing with them over Skype.
Being a crusty old man who still waves his proverbial cane at any new technologies, I was pretty hesitant to try it but it has ended up working quite well for me.

Fight. Struggle. Endure. Suffer. LIVE.Well they don't cost much, but I know how it is when any cost is to high.
Fight. Struggle. Endure. Suffer. LIVE.Personally I love superhero RP Gs. The reason I asked about Mutants and Masterminds specifically is, 1- being a point-build game it's easier to keep a group balanced, and 2- the only other superhero RPG I really know well is Heroes Unlimited, by the guys who made Rifts, and everyone seems to hate them. I have a Savage Worlds supplement for superhero games too, but it's rather limited, and the Marvel RPG from the 80s is... well, it's not perfect, to say the least.
I'm gonna see how many points it would cost to move the sun around like Celestia supposedly can (and I personally find ridiculous). I'll post the results in a little bit.
http://h0useb0und.tumblr.com/I still don't understand how dubstep differs from other types of music.
Blind Final Fantasy 6 Let's PlayWhat do you mean? It's a genre, just like any other. It's not somehow set apart from all other music.
Fight. Struggle. Endure. Suffer. LIVE.Thanks, that makes sense for an answer as to how dubstep got associated with DJ-Pon3. I actually had never heard of the musical style until I saw it referenced by pony fans. And I agree with Japanese Teeth that it would be funny if she actually didn't like it much but played it anyway because the other ponies liked it at events where she was being the DJ. (because the idea of challenging the common fandom portrayal of the character appeals to the contrary, rebellious part of my personality, especially when it's not necessarily something that comes from the show itself)

Okay... Let's see what I got here.
The cost of "Move Object" power, with the "limited to certain substances" flaw, is 1 point per rank.
The sun weighs around 1990000000000000000000000000000 kilograms (based on what I found on Wikipedia and my calculator).
The cost to move the sun would be 1990000000000000000000000000 points.
According to the DC Heroes book, Superman costs less than 300 points.
Well. Huh.
http://h0useb0und.tumblr.com/Is there any way to stack cost reductions to the point where it costs 0? That's where the real fun is.
Blind Final Fantasy 6 Let's PlaySuperman gets super-energized by prolonged contact with intense solar radiation, though. Wouldn't that factor into points?
Long live Cinematech. FC:0259-0435-4987Ran into this
while checking the drawfriend.
Well, the conversation looks to have mostly dried up anyways.
Birthright: an original web novel about Dragons, the Burdens of Leadership, and Mangoes.Yeah, the point costs can be weird sometimes. And while technically you COULD reduce the cost per level to 0 by restricting it to only affecting 1 object or something, that'd be cheating. If I were the GM/DM there's no way I'd allow it.
But yeah, Superman should be worth more points. On the other hand, moving the entire sun is ridiculous amounts of hax.
http://h0useb0und.tumblr.com/has Superman ever actually done that in the comics?
All things are lawful for me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but all things edify not.Oh wow. The most impressive thing I've ever done was kill someone with an ordinary nonmagical scythe as a 6str Wizard.

@Ike: I've been interested in trying M&M. Unfortunately of my grooup, one doesn't care for Supers games and the other two don't care for anything that goes higher than Spider-Man level powers.
