A thread to discuss My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic and the tie-in media.

Looks like Vinyl and Octavia found themselves in the world of Dark Souls. This will end in tears. https://derpibooru.org/812478?scope=scpe03a0dec8c1c791805245c0c952a3d3d0760a1209
Something that I've been thinking about recently, if the show was going to kill a character for real(Not someone introduced in the same episode they die in like Sombra), who do you think it'd be, how would they die, and how would the show handle it?
The problem I have with the thought is that I don't know how they wouldn't just repeat the message from Tanks for the Memories since that episode is basically about handling a pet's death, but substitutes death with hibernation. I had this thought due to how I couldn't really see Granny Smith die since I can't help but see an episode about her dying being Tanks for the memories but with the Apples instead of RD and Tank and with a character actually dying.
My Tumblr "If theirs one thing I'm good at, it's blowing" Jesse Cox 2013Well I'd say that if they were going to kill off any non-villain character, it would probably be Granny Smith. Or Celestia, because Mentor Occupational Hazard is a very common and dangerous thing. But neither one is likely to happen. If they could get away with flat-out killing off someone, I'd imagine they would have used that for the plot of a Tanks For The Memories type of episode {Though not necessarily with RD and Tank} instead of just using crap loads of subtext.
Yeah, Tanks seems to be the show's way of handling the death of a loved one.
Though maybe how they kill a character wouldn't necessarily be the focus of the episode, but more of a part of an episode. Like having someone die in battle.
My Tumblr "If theirs one thing I'm good at, it's blowing" Jesse Cox 2013Honestly. Tanks is my favorite episode of the season so far
https://youtu.be/_1F5HhUvFbM?si=csgwerqELcG6615qTanks is up there for me. As is Amending Fences. Still haven't seen past Amending Fences, though.
Still haven't watch Princess Spike, still happy.
I just don't wanna waste my time with that episode. Not cause it sounds bad, but because it sounds painfully mediocre.
@Scott Liking how you reference We Hate Movies! :-)
https://youtu.be/_1F5HhUvFbM?si=csgwerqELcG6615q@Scott The Freddy vs Jason episode had me in stitches!
https://youtu.be/_1F5HhUvFbM?si=csgwerqELcG6615qBack to the death question, the only reason I could see for this show to kill off a character is if the characters voice actor/actress dies and they can't find a suitable replacement.
The Crystal Caverns A bird's gotta sing. The only realistic way I could see a character dying is if it's some obscure relative that a character would logically be attached to, but hasn't actually appeared so far. I.e. like Pinkie's grandma. We have a reasonable assumption that Pinkie has a decent relationship with her, but she also hasn't appeared before, so it won't cause any shakeups in the existing cast in the way that, say, Granny Smith's death would.

I doubt that would happen unless some sort of horrible accident or disease kills them.
Eh, I dunno if I'd care for that, honestly. Sure it'd probably affect Pinkie, but I doubt the audience would be too affected since they've only really heard of Pinkie's grandma. Having some sort of relative or friend we hadn't really seen before or are just seeing die would feel like one of those Very Special Episodes you see in sitcoms.
Besides, I thought that Pinkie's grandma was dead already.

https://youtu.be/_1F5HhUvFbM?si=csgwerqELcG6615qI'll get there eventually. I have We Hate Movies and Film Sack, a podcast that isn't as vulgar as WHM, but it's a damn good podcast.
https://youtu.be/_1F5HhUvFbM?si=csgwerqELcG6615qIt's what happens when you listen to WHM a lot, FS is gonna feel off but I love listening to those guys. At one point, I listened to FS more than WHM.
