I'm in a weirdly talkative mood, given how much I've been posting on tumblr.

I got back from playing Cards Against Humanity for the first time with friends...it was fun.

Ha, I love that game.

That game is f'd up! I love it!

I was playing it with my Dn D group last weekend since half our group was missing. It's the same case this week, so I'm hoping we can play again. Maybe I can beat our DM this time.

I haven't played CAH in a few years.

I haven't played CAH, but I have played Apples To Apples, which is similar and also hilarious.

Final Fantasy 6: Apparently, Shadow isn't actually scripted to leave if you cast Imp on him. I just got really unlucky that he left after only 2 fights and happened to leave in the same fight I cast Imp on him.

At least I think it was only two fights. Maybe it was 3. I forgot to cast Imp the first time.

Anyway, since I'm stuck with Locke in the party, I might as well take him back to Kohligen to see what he has to say about it. He's also going to become a mugger, though I don't expect him to get many turns in battle with the speed at which Sabin roflpwns everything.

Also, I'm assuming that there are no deserts at all on the southern contient, or it would be a lot easier to just hop in the castle and teleport over.

Locke currently has just over 1/10th the XP that Sabin does.

So it looks like 3 of the starting Espers offer level up bonuses. +1 Magic, +1 Stamina, and +10% HP. I'm going to stick +magic on Sabin for now, on the assumption that it will power up Rising Pheonix and Aura Cannon. Correct me if I'm wrong. I have no idea what stamina does. I suppose I'll give +HP to Locke since he has so little HP right now.

Err, is there any way to unequip Espers? ... oh I see, you just equip a different one.

Random Encounter on literally the last step out of Zozo. The RNG gods are trolling me. Also, I see Sabin now has a Magic command. Makes sense with the espers.

Now after every fight it says "Earned 2 Magic AP". What's that all about?

As I suspected, Locke's obsession with protecting girls stems from his guilt about what happened to Rachel.

... wait Rachel is dead?! When I saw her lying in bed in the basement, I thought she might be dead, but decided that she probably wasn't because she hadn't started to decompose yet. If she was actually dead, they probably would have buried her instead of just letting her rot in a basement somewhere.

All the BG music stopped.

Wait, did Locke have her embalmed or something? Seems kind of distrubing.

I'm sure Cyan would love to get his hands on the Bring Back The Dead Treasure as well. Though on second thought, probably everyone would.

Cyan had access to Pheonix Downs and Antidotes. It's at least partly his fault that everyone died anyway.

I think the most logical explanation is that KO isn't really death, it's just a deathlike state that can be fixed by sleeping, eating, or drinking. So none of the P Cs ever actualy die.

That still doesn't explain how only Cyan and Domain Sentry survived the poison though.

Also, Herb Guy isn't Dragon Neck's brother. I got mixed up about that before. I still haven't figured out how to help him with the Collosseum yet. Oh well, back to Jidoor.

Just messed up a blitz. This is why I hate having so many characters in battle.

Talked to the Impressario. He dropped a letter on the floor, but I'm not rude enough to read other people's mail.

If only there was a way to make Sabin faster than Locke. Locke comes up first almost every battle.

The opera house is still closed. And no airships in sight. Or catapults.

Just Imped Locke. This way I don't have to worry about him going first and messing up my attacks and he still gets XP. As long as I remember to only heal using potions and not use an Inn. Well Hi-Potions since there aren't any shops that sell potions any more.

Hey! It's Julio Scoundrel!

Julio Scoundrel was introduced with what I think was a big Final Fantasy parody. So I guess it's more like an anti-reference.

For some reason Locke's sprite is normal while walking around, even though he's imped and has a different in battle sprite.

Sabin just learned Imp, ironically enough.

Just had a battle where Locke went first anyway. Can't win em all.

Celes is not enthusiastic about this plan.

So I've actually seen clips of the opera scene before, both the original and Pony Fantasy 6 version. It's nice to know the context though. I liked how the pony version has Trixie not bother memorizing the lines and instead improvise a completely different set of lines that still rhymes.

It realyl is impressive what they managed to do with the graphical and audio limits though.

During Scene 2, Maria is apparently supposed to just say dot dot dot dot dot

Is it coincidence that Maria is named the same as her role?

Locke still isn't letting me out even though I read the script twice.

So I messed up every possible way there is to mess up and even took a quick tour of the Opera lobby, and I still made it with a minute 22 seconds to spare. Maybe the game is assuming you won't be so OP in battle. Or they were just generous.

The crowd was completely unfazed by Locke bodysurfing and the lights going out, but suddenly flattering the heros is a calamity?

Ultros: I challenge you to a duel!

Sabin: Oh yeah? Well I counter challenge you to an underwater wrestling contest!

Obtained 2 gil! Wow, ultros is stingy.

Celes: I'm not an actress, but I play one on TV. I mean the opera.

@Story: Stamina effects how well you resist instant death moves and alters the rate of HP draining moves like poison and regen.

To deselect an esper, go to the esper page as usual and instead of selecting an esper, move your cursor on a blank spot and select it (intuitive, I know).

Air Knife is probably it, then. A lot of items don't sound all that useful, but are because the game doesn't tell you about certain extra properties on them. It's rather annoying.

Especially since the Equip Optimize button seems to ignore it too. Optimize All actually unequipped the Air Knife to replace with with a greatsword or something.

P.S. Here's the OOTS Final Fantasy parody I was talking about. It looks like Elan is Locke and Thog is a Moogle, but I still don't recognize the others. I'm guessing they're from different games.

Each Esper has certain spells tied to it that it teaches. the AP is how you learn it. Each spell it teaches has a multiplier between x1 and x20 Mostly x1-x5 which increases the AP that goes towards learning that spell by that much. Once you get 100 AP (Accounting for the multiplier) that character learns that spell. So a spell with a x5 multiplier only needs 20 AP to be learned.

I think I was thrown by the "run fight item" line, because that's definitely not from FF 6.

No, it's from 6. You always had the option to run, it's just not one of the main selections, though, wondering how he didn't have Bushido..... unless he didn't have a weapon equipped, cuase he does need to have the right type of weapon equipped to use it.

Even without the right option, Bushido still appears on the menu, just blued out. Also, it's Attack, not Fight, and Run never appears on the menu at all.

I think that line is meant to refer to an earlier game.

Terra uses green hair in her SNES sprite to help distinguish her from Celes. It's noticeable when both are in your party. The official art goes with the standard, but pretty much everyone prefers it green.

Yeah, it didn't take me long while watching Wo Y to realize that I was basically watching the adventures of Pinkie Pie and Rainbow Dash in space.

How do you think MLP characters (both good and evil) would react to Bill Cipher?

I think Pinkie would like Bill. And he has a top hat and bow tie, so obviously Rarity would consider him the height of class and sophistication. Alas, two of the elements of friendship have already been lost to us.
